Hey guys I'm writing a Next Generation fanfiction but I'm a fairly new Harry Potter fan myself (Although I've seen all the movies, I'm only on the sixth book :/ heh) and so I don't know all of the little facts of the HP universe. So I figured I'd ask the experts ^_^ (pst, btw that's you guys). I'm sure a lot of you guys have read all of the books, probably multiple times, and I also know J.K. has given out random facts in interviews that weren't in the books; I would be welcoming of an answer based on either of these sources. I'd also be very open to anyone's opinion or idea on how things happened if the answer isn't found or available.

So first question: What do Wizards do in replace of 9-1-1? Like, I know St Mungo's is their hospital, but how do they contact them for immediate advice concerning an emergency? Owl's wouldn't be quick or efficient enough for the situation. And floo powder? What, is there a large room full of fireplaces with a nurse trying to attend each one? How would they put people on hold and prevent people from using the same fireplace and bumping heads? It makes more sense then the owls but still not very efficient. Maybe via Patronous? Although they're hard to summon, especially when the person isn't very cheery at the moment.
So how does it work? Does J.K. address it? Anyone have any theories? -
I don't know if Jo mentions it, but my guess/theory is some sort of spell that tells them. You cast it, they show up.

But what if, say, Scorpius had apparated himself and Rose to his home but she passed out from the encounter so Scorpius panicked and feared that maybe he had somehow accidentally splinched her (he hadn't, it was just her first time apparating and it effected her more than most). But there was no one home for him to ask about it and he didn't know what to do so he wanted to contact St. Mungo's for advice. How would he do it?

Talking patronus?

That might be it. Hmm, I'd have to re-read some parts...

Would Harry have settled down in 12 Grimauld Place or would he have raised his family where he was born, in Godric's Hollow? What do you think?
-
I would say Godric's Hollow since it was where his parents lived and died. Also, If I remember right, he wasn't that fond of Grimauld Place.
-
Godric's Hollow, I would say. 12 Grimmauld place isn't really great to raise kids in, but maybe if he and Ginny fixed it up, he could live there. So really I guess it depends.

In regards to your question about an emergency call like 911, I would think that most wizards would know a spell to at least temporarily fix their injury in time to get to the hospital. Good question though; I don't think that was ever answered in the books or movies.
