Ooh, OK.
So, basically, there's a great deal of argument over the kind of man Snape was. Many argue that he was "a good guy" and a true Gryffindor at heart, dedicating and - inevitably - sacrificing his life for Lily. His actions were the epitome of true love. But here comes the question - was it love or obsession? Weren't there selfish desires beneath all that Snape did, or did he truly change over time? It is true that he harboured a profound hatred towards James Potter, and then his son, Harry. Yet, he died for him and for the right cause.
So who was Snape, really? What do you think?

Snape is not a true Gryffindor at all, he hates Harry and James, but protects Harry because of his love for Lily. This for me makes Snape my favorite character, because he is all flaw save for his true love.
