Any lover of manga will know that it contains a various assortment of fun sound effects often written in Japanese.
Other effects are translated to English or Roma-ji.
I personally think that they look the best in Japanese, so I created this thread so we could make a sort of communal dictionary of sound effects.
If you know any common sound effects or not so well known ones, post them and their meanings here.
Post them in any three scenarios.
-If you have a Japanese text/image for them go ahead.
-If you don't have the Japanese for them but do have the Roma-ji, just post that.
-If you know some sound effects you have seen in English but just can't find the Japanese counterpart no matter how hard you try, you could put it here and hope that someone else knows about it.
**One other thing, if you have an image (screenshot or something) of a sound effect in Japanese that is unknown, post it here and say so so we can figure it out. If it is not in kanji I may be able to translate it to roma-ji or text so we can find out it's meaning.**
If we get quite a collection I may put the posts together in a sort of dictionary list.

To start this off, I found a site with many sound effects http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx/index/a/ but I find it particularly hard to navigate (Even more so for anyone who has no knowledge of the Japanese alphabet)
I also wanted to see the sound effects in 'comic' format, like the effect sort of fonts, so hopefully our dictionary could be a bit more simple.

Hmm, I could actually really help with this, but it would take me sometime to compile the post. I'll see what I can do. The best ones are the manga that leave the SFX as they appear, and then add a glossary in the back with Romaji and English meanings. Look for those types of books, as they are extremely helpful.
