    Ah, sorry I won't be able to do a proper intensive review, but I'll just make a post to get this started :P

    Title: Death Note

    Genre: Thriller

    3. Art style: Awesome

    4. Publisher: too lazy to look it up

    9. Why should we read it?: Because it is amazing and it makes you feel amazing.

    Psychological thriller

    3. Art style
    Tense and dramatic. Sweeping line work, pulls you in on every panel. Matches the mood of the piece, often dark and suspenseful.

    4. Publisher
    Shonen Jump

    5. Summary (Right, no spoilers now.)

    "He whose name is written in this book shall die."

    Light Yagami, in his last year of highschool, recieves the Death Note from a Shinigami (death god) who wishes to observe Light as he disovers the books true powers. A paradox of justice, Light begins to use the book's strange powers to kill known murderers. Soon, he is hunted by a brilliant and eccentric detective known only as "L," and the game begins. Who will win: the genius with a god-complex or his intelligent, "gray" opponent?

    6. Pros
    Suspense. If you only read this manga for one thing, read it for the suspense. The anime was equally good, I must say.
    Complexity. There is nothing shallow here. A wealth of deep themes and a plot frought with urgency always leaves a question unanswered.

    7. Cons
    Is often times heavy-handed and exagerated. Characterization of minor characters (especially Mika) seems to be lacking a bit, for the sake of developing the plot, Light and L. The series may seem to drag a bit after the climax. But that is to be expected with anything.

    8. Why did you personally like it?
    I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. There were so many possibilities to explore. It was a real brain-teaser.

    9. Why should we read it?
    It is the god of well-written manga. Others have their own merits, but if you are someone who is not inclined to read manga, you should definitely read this one. Gripping and dark, it has its own dose of tragedy, and forces us to question our own inner intents and motives. We start to wonder, after all, is it right to root for the killer?
