What Do YOU Say When YOU Welcome Someone?

11 posts in this topic.

  1. We all welcome people differently, so they can feel special.

How do you welcome people? No need to be specific. Just a quick overall explanation of how you welcome new members.
  2. I just be myself. What would I say in real life? Also at the end so that people remember me I put a nice little signature.
    Sushi :D
  3. Welcome to YWS (Put name of user here.)!

If you have a question or need a review ask me and I will do what I can for you. :)

Also just wanted to say this, "You need to have at lest 250 points to submit a work unless Nate(Who is maker of this sight.) changes it."

(If they have no Avatar.) I must say you're profile would look so amazing if you had an Avatar. :P

Stay cool and PLEASE stay active. :)

    ~Jon~
  4. I usually end with...

    Peace out!

    The rest varies. : )
  5. I try not to be a robot. VARIATE!
  6. I say a bunch of things, but this is normally what I say:
Welcome to YWS! I can help you around if you have any problems or need to know anything. Here's a list of people you might like!
    Random people: lots of names
Normal and nice people: lots of names
New people like you: lots of names
    Have fun!

  7. Hmmn. I kinda just say a simple, "Welcome to YWS!"

Usually the people who are showing interest in the site (compared to those who join and never come back after three seconds lol) are the ones who answer back a thank you.

Then I'd go into detail without infodumping, like, "Here's how you submit a work, this is the point system... Let me know when you have something up so I can review it!"

That's the stuff people actually want to know about. xD Then if they reply to that, I tell them about the Buddy System and the Welcome Mat. :] Kind of a different tactic, I know, haha.
  8. good idea....
  9. I'm new. Talk to me.

    Meh.
  10. The irony o.o Black, I was just looking at that post in I'm New. Talk to me. ... o.o
  11. Aside from my "gift", I don't copy paste. I usually start by answering specific questions or responding to whatever they've said about themselves so far. Then I might explain some general info. I'm not crazy about too many links because that can overwhelm a new member. Plus it's fun to explore for yourself. :)

Of course, I always end with a gift!
