Camp 2016: Burned

8 posts in this topic.

  1. So before I could even start working on my rewrite of Terminate I decided it was better for me to continue a current project rather than starting all over. I've switched to working on Burned this month. I'm so ambitious until it's actually time to do something.

    Word goal: 30,000

Just like last time I did a thread here I'll probably just be using this to complain about how I have no time to write. But this does hold me accountable to actually reach my daily word counts. This will be a fun month :3
  2. Day 1 (aka yesterday)

I started writing yesterday afternoon, but not even five minutes in my little bro was done baseball practice and I had to pick him up. Then the craziness of my life took over, making it impossible for me to write any more. Woo.

    Words written: 91
  3. Day 2

Writing went a lot better today. Although it is Saturday so I guess that's why I got so much done. It's amazing how much you can get done when you have all day free.

Favorite line: "I’ll still be lost in the present. Sometimes I wish there was more to my life."

    Words written: 1,278
    Total word count: 1,369
  4. Days 3 -- 7

I was supposed to write things. I didn't. Shame on me.
  5. I hoped that this thread would help me stay on task. It hasn't. I don't even know what day of NaNo I'm on xD Well, considering it's the 12th I'm guessing this is day 12...

Update on my writing. I haven't been writing a ton of words. Here and there I'll get time to write a page or two. But I am still working on it. Even when I'm not actually writing, scene ideas are running through my head.

Word count: I don't even know anymore
  6. I'm alive. Somehow I've found the inspiration again to keep writing.

In the past twelve days I've written 2,829 words. That doesn't seem like much compared to where I'm used to being at this point of any NaNo, but it's an accomplishment for me. I think I've finally gotten past the "boring" part of the story. The action and suspense is starting to pick up and that'll definitely keep me writing. I think I'm just being overly optimistic again

    Word count: 4,198
  7. I wrote some more today. It wasn't much, but it got me started on the next chapter. Once I finish this quick scene things will run smoother. There's something important coming up that will send everything into chaos. I can't wait to get to that part ^_^

Favorite line: “That look,” he says, staring more intently at me. “Pale face, empty eyes. It’s like you’re not even there."

    Words written: 327
    Word count: 4,494
  8. I forgot to update these past couple of days. Haven't written too much more, but I feel like I'm making progress. As long as I see it that's all that matters.

At the moment I'm in the middle of writing an argument between the MC and her best friend. I love these two characters 'cause once they start you can't get them to stop. Should be an interesting conversation :3

Words written (in the past 2 days): 350
    Total word count: 4,844
    Words to go: 25,156

Who thinks I can make it?? xD

This is a message to all you out there. You don't have to be the fastest writer. You don't have to write 2000 words in one sitting. But if you put your mind to it and really love your project, you can and will get further along than you ever thought possible.
