Yeah, single's okay, But what if you're wanting a boyfriend. Is that so bad?
Story: You're in 8th grade, and you've been single for 3 weeks. You meet a guy and you really like him, but after your last relationship, your friends don't think it's such a good idea. But you really want a boyfriend.
Is it so bad?
Do you think it's OK to want a boyfriend/girlfriend?

I wouldn't say that its a bad thing, however it could become one if you rush into. Especially after just becoming single. From my point of view I would just say single for awhile and just test out the waters. It doesn't have to be for long, but just long enough so that you know that your absolutely ready to be in a relationship.
The way I see it rushing into a relationship always equals relationship failure. -
I agree with RomanticWriter. I also think a lot of times, teenagers use the term "relationship" far too loosely. I mean, it's one thing to have a crush on a guy, it's another to actually be dating him. They should learn the difference before they start going around calling him their "boyfriend"... >_>
Anyway. I'd say someone in the situation you mentioned should get to know the person first, before they start considering him their "boyfriend." Otherwise he could be a total creep, or the relationship wouldn't work out, et cetera.
I don't think it's bad to want a boyfriend, though. Most everyone wants some form of romance in their life, even if they won't admit it; that's natural.
