Well I'm from the USA too, our families main holidays are..

St Patrick's day (I'm an Irish American so this is always a big family shindig!)

Thanksgiving
and New years -
South Africa.
We have a host of National Holidays which I don't observe enough but should. I celebrate New Years and Christmas (in the summer
)We *don't* celebrate Halloween here, nor thanksgiving. -

Some people celebrate Halloween, St Patrick's day and Chinese New Year, but they aren't public holidays. -
Haha over here I guess a really long time ago Halloween was some ancient ritual or something like that now it is just a way for people to put up cheesy decoration, go to haunted houses (which I actually like), dress up, and eat ourselves sick with candy.
