Now, I think we can all agree that 50 Shades of Grey is not quality literature. But do you have a book that you really disliked, even if it was popular or considered good? ...Or maybe you just feel like ranting about Twilight. Anything goes. The only rule is don't debate--or at least don't do it here.

It wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, but I have some serious issues with Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. I'm copying here from the wall, because I don't feel like retyping my feelings:
I love a good old dystopian read, but I really felt that it wasn't even comparable to, say, 1984 or F.451. It felt almost contrived to me, and it pretty much oozed religious propaganda. In fact, it had me up until it started developing the characters. They really served no purpose other than to further the whole underlying message Huxley had going, and I think that's where he failed. It's just my opinion, but the reason books like 1984 succeed are that the characters are inherently relatable and, at their core, human. Huxley didn't have humans, he had talking metaphors and plot devices. So I get why people appreciate it, but for me it was entirely ineffective and just not a good read. -
Snow White and the Huntsman. Mary. Sue. And it was cliche. I know, it's a spin off of the original story but I just hated it.

I was forced to read Things Fall Apart in my English class this year. I understand that it's supposed to be a fantastic book that really resonates deep with some people. But the main character. I hated the main character. He beat his wives and children and threatened to kill them, killed his adoptive son for no purpose whatsoever other than he didn't want to seem weak, and he was celebrated for it. The best part of the book was when he committed suicide. And not only this, the book was supposed to showcase the brutality of the white missionaries and the tragic demise of the Ibo way of life, but simply because the main character was so awful I ended rooting for the missionaries. It was such an awful book that it ended up having the exact opposite effect of what the author was trying to do. Anyway, that concludes my rant.

CONfidence was a terrible book that we had to read in school. It was that whole cliché thing about an unpopular girl becoming popular, and abandoning her awesomesauce friends and all that. Like Mean Girls, except it wasn't funny, and Mean Girls was well written and original when it came out. CONfidence was just terrible overall.

I hated Animal Farm. It had a good story, but I just hated how it was set up and how it was wrote. I like how each character represented a person in history an all though.
