This thread will contain spoilers, so be warned if you haven't seen the episode yet!
Okay, so what did people think? I'm going to watch it again tomorrow to see it with a more unbiased eye, but oh man, I thought it was so good! In some ways I'm kind of annoyed that there wasn't a definite answer to how Sherlock did it, but I'm also glad, because there have been so many theories (some of them incredibly well thought-out) that no one answer could be truly satisfactory.
Did any of your guesses or theories come out in the episode? I'd read a theory about using the ball to stop the pulse, and I was sure that everyone in the street was in on it--like in 'Scandal in Bohemia' when Holmes hires everyone to take part in his plan. Of course, though, that's not entirely confirmed...
Side note: among the many awesome things in the episode was the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch's own real-life parents played Sherlock's parents! My family geeked out over that pretty hard.
