  • Yo. I'm kinda newbie, so can someone direct me to something related to "Rapping"?

EloquentDragon Rapping? You mean you want to read stuff about it? Or you have questions about it? To search for poetry and stuff that is rap, theres a search bar at the top of the screen, to the far right of that black bar. Type in "rap" or "rapping" and go for it. If you want advice regarding it, I'd reccomend checking out the "Ask an Expert" subforum under the forum tab.

  • Hey. This club has been recommended to me and it looks good. I could really use some help with how to create realistic characters and would really value the help of a mentor. I try not to limit myself to a genre but I hate sci-fi (sorry, all fans.) I just really need to know how to find my Character Muse. So if there is anyone who can help with that, I would really, really appreciate some help. Thank you! :)

TakeThatYouFiend The best way to make characters is think of about ten from different books and combine them. You come up with a character you hate so much you change everything about them in a spurt of creative flare. Another way of getting the original bad character is with an online generator. :-)

Hi, I'm new here, this club looks good for me! I like writing in a wide mix of genres, though I'm not that great with romance, but I probably write supernatural/fantasy/action/animal adventure the most. I also write poetry, I have posted a couple on here. I find making characters the best part of storywriting, particularly those who aren't especially 'good' or 'evil', but somewhere in between XD I often find myself thinking of characters before I have worked out what kind of story to put them in.

SushiSashimi333 That sounds pretty awesome! So are you looking for a mentor? And if so, what kind of mentoring would you like? Writing, site help, grammar, plot ideas, etc.

Heyy guys. I'm poking around the website for anyone who just wants to discuss writing in any genre. I'm open to everything, and I really want to make a few more writer friends to be all writerish with. So, if anyone wants, you can shoot me a message ^^

Renard Hey! So what would you say your favourite genre is? Because I find it usually corresponds with what you read most. I try to read pretty widely: fantasy, realistic, romance. What about you?
    Sep 7, 2013

KaydanThayne Moreso fantasy type stuff, but I'll read just about anything that's good and write whatever gets my attention for the second.

Hi, I'm new to the site and I would like to find a mentor? I wrote my first book earlier this year and, while that was awesome and everything, I'm kind of running low on creative juices, ya know? I'm into fantasy and scifi. But I'm also very into romance and angels and demons and stuff. I would really like to find someone to help me navigate the site but also let's me bounce the billion and a half ideas I have. So... um... there ya go.
    :)

Hey everybody! I'm new to this site and this club looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I'm into all kinds of writing, but I mostly like to write about emotions and I have a huuuge penchant for mentally disturbed characters, especially villains. There's just something that fascinates me about why someone does things, and not just that they do them. I'm looking for a mentor or mentors who are well versed in that area, but anyone's tips on writing in general and basic knowledge to share would be much appreciated.

    Iggy Welcome to the site!

No that doesn't help, but thanks for trying anyway.

Iggy Well, I don't realy understand what you mean. I didn't see anything you published in the Storybook forum, otherwise, I would've deleted it for you.

If you saved it as a draft, it could be in your Drafts folder. Go to messages, then click the "manage drafs" tab.

novelist Sorry about that. I guess I wasn't very specific. On the bar where it says storybooks, go to view new posts, and that's where I happened to find it.

Ok so I saved a writing as a draft, but when I went to Storybooks the draft that wasn't supposed to be on there is now on there, and I'm almost freaking out. Is there anyway possible to delete it?

Iggy You mean, you text saved in the text box? Just erase it. No big deal, it isn't visable to anyone but yourself.

Unless you mean you actually posted it, which you didn't. I checked.

    Does that answer your question?

Does anyone havea 'club' where I can ask to get things fixed on my YWS website?
    -Charley

Rydia I'm not sure I understand what you're asking for - what things are there which you're looking to have fixed? Is something not working for you? There's a report a bug thread if that's the case!
    Aug 11, 2013

ItsCharley Yes that's exactly it thankyou very much! :)

  • So, I write short stories for my friends, see? And all they ever want is romantic short stories. I'm kinda running out of this lovey-dovey writer's juice, ya know? I need something fresh, unexpected, and different. Not the same cliche love story, ya know? Any ideas?

Aley Write a story about an open relationship which actually works?
    Aug 4, 2013

SushiSashimi333 Well when I wrote my only short story on here I was listening to musci. So i guess what you could do is listen to a song (not of your language so that the music is all that matters) and dream. Then vomit all you think about and edit. I can give you a list if you would like. And to see if would like to try my method I can give you a link to how the story turned out. The original and alternative ending.

  • Have you all had a good week? I am so glad it's the weekend! I have a challenge for you: can you find a new user whose username starts with the same letter as yours and welcome them to the site?
