Chronic Insecurity

Chronic Insecurity,
Sudden Onset.
It hits the lungs first;
Rips the air from your chest.

The heart comes after.
The pain is intense,
Your years of well earned flatteries,
crushed with a single sentence.

And everyone's looking,
And everyone's expecting,
but you will say nothing,
your voice is the last one it hits.

The one who started it,
The one who empathizes,
The one who has free entrance beyond your well armed forts,
she only stares; oblivious to the damage she's done.

She stands among my rubble,
hand clenched around the knife,
and she has no idea I'm bleeding,
she has no idea what she's done to my life.

We learn together,
but in this moment,
I've grasped the concept first;
You can't heal a bleeding wound,
If you don't even know it's there.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that life's going to launch you into something great, so just focus and keep aiming.
