Rainbow Boys series

I put R because i was unsure if this could be classified as adult themes... but i suppose it is. Playing it safe.

I picked it up because i was out of books and had 3 guys on the front and appeared alright. When i began i could not put it down! It's about these three teens in their second last year of school i think, and all their troubles, coming of age, and the first book of three about their incredibly difficult and interesting lives.

One, Nelson, is openly gay, and doesn't care what people think. He dyes his hair obscene colours and is the pure meaning of gay.
Kyle is a swimmer, he's gay but not as open about it as Nelson. Best friends with Nelson, which causes many problems.
Jason, basketballer and has everything to lose. At the beginning he's with his girlfriend but dumps her for Kyle. He is the most conflicted in these three books about his sexuality and coming out.

I reccomend it for anybody who has a bit of spare time and wants to introduce themselves to a whole new side of life. Before these books i had no idea what so many kids go through, but now i understand and sympathise with them. Terrific reads, definite plane reads, or spare time fillers. If you're as bored as i am you'll read them two or three times!
