Sold is a scary book, made all the more scary by the fact that the events inside it, are real, and happen on a regular basis. Sold was written by Patricia McCormick. It tells the story of a girl from Nepal named Lakshmi, who is,unwittingly, sold into sexual slavery by her parents, and transported to India, were she is forced to work in a brothel. The chapters are told in short dairy format chapters, and is about 350 pages long.
