the end of the road is lonely

the end of the road is lonely,
there is nothing i can do,
what is done is done
i ask myself
am i the one to blame?

we thought we were going all the way
but we could feel the end was near

we can never know what would have been
if things just went our way
they beat us up,
they  pushed us down,
there was nothing we could do
but play our game.

our game got us far
but their luck got them farther.

their road is much longer than ours
it started before ours,
but theirs will end sooner
and then
We will have the longer road
We will go farther
but for now the end is here.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone.
