Time's Tounge

If time could stretch its deep voice over life's repitition and caress my starving ears, it would have nothing to say.

I am not helpless nor blind nor ignorant of time's truth. I am afraid.

Fatally falling into my pattern of decay after recalling that pain, I internally sob in my fear. Time itself does not laugh, but instead watches with open eyes. Omniscient eyes. I wish them to be non-judgemental, but they glaze over my open wounds with thought.

Time knew I would face this point. Hell, I knew I would face this point, I just failed to anticipate the temptation of my apple. It was glistening and red and...well, I clicked.

Although so painful, I'm glad time gave me a human to hold. I'm glad I got to stare into his dark brown eyes and lightly grab his large callous hands. But as time's eyes slipped down my face to see where his body touched mine, its voice held silent; it didn't tell me what to do. How could time leave me alone?

Now I am back, forcibly matured, but still focused on the apple. Though I continue to hate, I'm still vying for a way, any way, to move out of my body and face the world with a smile I've been hiding from the one place I am forced to be. Home. My life decisions cannot be made by me but rather, the sly maneuvering of a run down wristwatch.

Fucking time knows I can't disappear anymore. It knows I am old in my mind and cut in my soul. It knows I have never been so lost and scared and selfish.

Oh, time knows, but won't say anything about it.

I richochete off the walls in my box but slow down when I nervously glance at my watch.

It's two twenty seven again.

I knew it would come, as memories do, but its hands are cold, not warm like when we first met. Maybe time could tell me that nothing is permanent, but its voice fails to speak.

I've always been more of an orange person anyways.

<< I need help figuring out formatting and a decent ending. Something about it just doesn't feel right...Any comments are appreciated. (:
