My Lullaby

The lullaby I sing to you
Is a song that came true
From the life of the prince
To the love of the queen
The protection of the king
And the kindness of a friend

This lullaby I sing to you
Is a tale about you
And a fairy knight too
He was your friend at first
But then a feeling grew
So the fairy knight is yours tonight

A lullaby I sing to you
Is about a baby quite like you
Small and cute but nothing new
But a smile that’s all it knew
With a name that made it true

Every lullaby I sing is true
It's a story you never knew
But I sing so you will know
And with a lullaby all your own
Baby Sharrae you named it true

This was confusing, but, hey, when you're writing a lullaby, it's the sound that counts. That and the care/love going into it. You deliver on both counts.
Sound: The flow was good. I don't have much to say.
Care/intention: Exceptional!
If this became classic/widely known, anyone could put their baby's name in where you wrote "Sharrae", and make it personal. I love that.

Hi.
I know this thing is quite old but Shakespeare's are much older. I like it and probably will read this aloud every night when I'm going to bed. I hope I won't bother others when I'm going to sing.
Your poem was unique. I like the lullaby things and the rhymes things.
However, the part that I love was the 'fantasy' elements you put.
I hope you keep writing poetry. XD.
And I was addicted to the last line. XD

["Baby Sharrae you named it true"]

LOL seems like everybody loves that line haha. It was one of my best one. I don't do poetry often, I mostly just write them when I have a novel and the person is singing or something.
I did however make another one and I'll have to ask my Crig-cycle if I should post it. They LOVED it.
Yeah when I saw the Notification, I was like "Whoa who looked at that, it's so old." HAHA. But I'm glad you decided to check out my work no matter how old.

The repition is really effective. I can imagine it being read or sung to a young child, helping them fall asleep, so well done. What i love the most is the way it takes the reader to a different place. It allows you to visualise different things until you drift into a deep and peaceful sleep
:)

Thanks. That was the idea

I liked it but I got to say it wasn't in my genre of poetry, although it really was good.

I think you where trying to say true not "ture" in the last stanza, first sentence. ( Not sure about it but wanted to point it out incase you really where trying to spell true.) That's the only error that I saw.

Thanks for the poem :D

I would love to review, but you have to know poetry is not my strongest point. I enjoy reading them though. But when it comes to writing and reviewing, I'm not so good on that :D

Nevertheless, I have to say this is such a sweet poem!!

I love the concept, that of a lullaby. Really sweet. I liked the first stanza. That happens to be my favourite part in the whole poem itself!

I just felt that in the last two stanzas, there were a little too many 'you's It kind of diminished the beauty of the whole poem, but not fully :D

I dont think I find anything else wrong with it, grammatically.

While concept wise, the poem is very sweet. It is a lullaby after all. I can imagine it with a tune! :D

I loved it!

Great job!

You've certainly brought out the randomness through this one. *winks*

Alright, I'd like to say firstly that I adore the idea of the poem. It's captivating, in a way. But there are definitely a few little problems.
The excessive use of "you" is the first to stand out. While the poem is clearly in second person point of view, using "you" or "your" in nearly every line quickly becomes tiresome and repetitious.

Secondly, in the second stanza, I'm assuming you meant to write "knight" as in a king's servant.

Next, the third stanza. The way you phrase the third line really detracts from the mood of the whole piece, which is sort of mystical, in a sense. And in the next to last line "it's" needs to be changed it "its".

Overall I really enjoy the poem, there are just a few things to be tweaked.

Thanks never really noticed the whole night thing LOL :D
