The Last stand

Nipah~ is a cute noise Rika makes, don't think it means anything

Watanagashi- is the festival of this village, celebrated once a year

"I am fed up of this, Hanyuu. I want to live a normal life, I do not want to witness the horrors of Hinamizawa again.."

"I am sorry Rika.. there is nothing I can do, I am hopeless.. powerless" Hanyuu said shaking her head violently. Her tears shined as they rolled down her cheek. "Rika.."

"Morning Rika!" Satoko said pouring Milk into the bowls. "Rise and Shine!"

Rika yawned as she sat up, still half asleep. "I am sorry Satoko, I went to sleep a little later last night" Rika said cheerfully. Satoko put the bowls on the table and kneeled infront of the television. "I wish they would put more cartoons on in the morning" Satoko said ruffling her short blonde hair.

Satoko and Rika have lived near the shrine together since they both lost there parents.

"Come on Rika! If we don't hurry up we will be late!" Satoko said pulling Rika up and giggling. Satoko rushed to get dressed, Rika looked down.

"This is it Hanyuu, another day.. the same as last June and the June before.

This eternal June is killing me" she said walking to get dressed.

"I am so hopeless and only Rika can see me" wailed Hanyuu to herself.

They both set off, Hanyuu floated next to them helplessly.

"Come on Satoko we better run, its getting late and the teacher will be displeased" Rika said smiling as she hurried ahead.

"And so it begins.." Rika said darkly, the smile fading from her face, her long blue hair waving behind her. And Satoko her best friend running along side her."Sorry we are a little late.." said Satoko smiling, her little fang sticking out the side of her mouth. "Uguu~ Rika and Satoko.. You both look especially CUTE today!" Rena squealed blushing and admiring there cute-ness.

"Now settle please class!" The teacher said walking in, she slammed her books on the desk.

"This new teacher is soooooo strict.." Mion groaned as she balanced her pencil on her lip. Rena giggled nervously.

"Miss Ryuuguu, are you finding something amusing?" Teacher asked.

"um...No" Rena said blushing and sinking a little in her chair.

"Well that lesson was boring." Keiichi said packing his books away.

"It was the same as before" Rika said darkly.

"huh? Rika You have been acting a little awkwardly today, is something wrong?" asked Rena squishing Rika's cheeks.

"uh.. Nothing! Nipah~" Rika said smiling. everyone smiled as they walked out of the classroom.

"The same fake smile.." whispered Hanyuu, her eyes filling with tears.

"Today has been predictable, If only something different was to happen. Or we could find out the meaning behind Showa 58" Rika said to Hanyuu, the glass of wine in her hand glistening in the moonlight.

Satoko opened one eye. She listened carefully.

"I cannot bear to watch my friends suffer another year" Rika whispered.

"I know Rika.. I wish I wish I could help!!" Hanyuu said.

Satoko opened both her eyes. Who is that? Satoko thought she heard the sound of the Higurashi buzzing and the silence that followed. She turned overfacing away from the window ledge which Rika was sat on.

"I am sorry.. Rika" said Hanyuu turning away. "No.. Hanyuu?"

"Yes?"

"Can you.. Put together the pieces?" Rika asked winking.

They nodded.

Satoko lay silent, worrying about her friend.

Watanagashi

"Takano, Tomitake!" Mion said as her and the gang ran up to greet them.

"Oh Hello!" said Takano winking, a long smile spreading across her face.

"Greetings!" Tomitake laughed.

They all laughed but Rika hung around in the background. She watched Hanyuu taking notes.

"Come on Rika!" said Keiichi laughing. They talked for a while and soon departed.

"Goodbye!" said Keiichi.

"Tonights the night!" Takano said giggling.

Hanyuu's eyes widened. Rika stopped.

"Tonight?" Hanyuu said to herself. "Oh My.."

Satoko dragged Rika along, "Its time for your performance"

"NO!" shouted Rika running after Takano. She hid behind a tree, She was talking to Tomitake. She pushed him to the ground. Tomitake felt the dust hit his face, but soon he felt numb and he began scratching at his throat.

"Hinamizawa Syndrome.." Rika whispered to Hanyuu.

"Hanyuu, What I witnessed today was-" Rika started. Hanyuu wailed as it was happening again, as Rika was carried off and stuffed in the back of the truck. "Yet again, it is repeating" Hanyuu said shaking her head in denial.

"That is so,Hanyuu,That is so" she said as Takano dragged her outside of her own shrine. She sliced open her stomach and dismembered her insides.

"Takano, Your evil!" she shouted her eyes glowing a bright red, as if they could cut straight through you. Takano laughed. "I am determined to carry out my grandfathers research! I WILL KILL YOU DEMON!!!" Takano screamed. "THATS A LIE!" She screamed in reply.

"Another world, Another attempt. Fate will be defeated" Rika said calmly.

Hanyuu smiled, "and now I can help!" she said winking.

"Introducing our newest classmate, Miss Furude Hanyuu!" Teacher said as Hanyuu walked in.

"N-nice to meet you all" Hanyuu mumbled, smiling politely.

Rika smiled. "This is my cousin!" Rika said clapping.

Watanagashi

"This is it Hanyuu!" said Rika walking up to Takano. Hanyuu followed.

"Its you! Demon girl!" Takano said grabbing Hanyuu and throwing her to the ground.

"TAKANO, WE KNOW THE TRUTH!!! GIVE IT UP!!" Rika said running to find Tomitake, he was lying there, He was scratching at his throat a little.

"Tomitake stop!" Rika said, She called Oishi.

"OISHI!" she screamed, She heard some men running. "Oh no!" she whispered, it was Oishi and the policemen.

Takano had loads of men fighting off the police.

"Now, I have one Bullet.." she said laughing.

"STOP IT TAKANO!" cried Hanyuu.

"over the years i have observed your behaviour, it sickens me to know you would do all this to go to your research. Miyoko Tanashi!!" Hanyuu shouted.

"Y-you know my real name.." she said. "You demon Hanyuu girl, are going to die painfully tonight!" she screamed pointing the gun at Hanyuu.

"No stop!" Rena said running from behind, Mion, Satoko and Keiichi followed.

"Stay back! She is dangerous" said Hanyuu. "You too Rika, we have come too far to lose to her now"

Rika stepped back crying.

"3....2....1....DIE!!!!" Takano said shooting the bullet, Hanyuu's eye followed the bullet as it came directly in her direction.

"No!" Rika choked out.

The bullet shot straight, Hanyuu's hair blew in the wind.

"Ahhh..... NO!" cried Takano. "I-it missed.." she cried, tears filled her eyes and she overflowed with painful tears.

Hanyuu smiled triumphantly. "I-it was so simple..?" Rika said smiling.

Tomitake shook his head dazed and rushed over to Takano. Rika and Hanyuu looked at eachother.

"Fate has been beaten.. Maybe forever"

Rika looked over to her friends, she smiled warmly.

Rika woke up with a smile, she ripped the page from the calendar.

1st July 1982. "So Rika, Hanyuu what would you guys like for breakfast?" Satoko said giggling.

"And with this we have our conclusion Miyoko.. we can either play with June, or we can give up. And I think playing is much more fun" She smiled darkly as she started June 1982 all over again.
