Nature

What was nature,
but for a thing to blame
when all of nurture
will not a mistake claim?

What was nature,
but for a place
to fill with old nomenclature
and to make the eco case?

That was nature, but now
ever since the day I took my rite,
I can clearly understand how
the moon guides us all through the night.

Nature is this gorgeous thing
to be found in the simple cowl
on the common bird's wing,
and in the pack's keening howl.

What is nature,
but for a place
to grow and nurture
your place in space?

What is nature now,
but for the eldest teacher
who shows us directly how
we must all come together

And listen to the wisdom She grants
next to Her young, grand new plants.

I wonder if people felt the freedom in our culture to love louder, if they'd be quicker to say "I miss you" when the absence of someone is felt instead of just thinking it.
