Don't believe that I'm okay.
Just because it's what you want to see,
That doesn't mean you should believe what I say.

Your excuse is that I'm young and trying to find my way,
So you go right on ignoring my pleas. Please,

You strive to remember the girl that would play,
the little girl you call Leesee Bee.
That doesn't mean you should believe what I say.

But, instead, now you've got a girl who spends her day
writing and hiding, being everything you just never wanted her to be.
Don't believe that I'm okay.

You tell me--and I believe in--"Come what may,"
But how can I live it when I'm drowning in my saline sea?
That, apparently, doesn't mean you should believe what I say.

Mom, Dad, my depression won't just go away.
For quite some time it's been hurting me.
I tell you, don't believe that I'm okay...
That doesn't mean you listen to what I have to say.
