I Love You

Symphonies could be made
to parade my love of you--
we would listen under the shade
and symphonies could be made
that were written and never played
in a metaphor of Mow and Mew;
and symphonies shall be made
to parade my love of you.

Are you there, my love;
do you hear my muted cries;
won't you please help me?

Maybe one of these days,
we will be together,
sitting as games we play--
maybe one of these days
and maybe, as we say,
we can live together;
maybe one of these days,
we will be together.

My crying's getting
worse, just please pick up because
it kills me to hear...

You have answered, my dear,
and I am ever so glad
for your voice that I love to hear
and you have answered, my dear;
all that's wanted is to keep you near
and to have the good times to be had--
you have answered yes, my dear,
and I am ever so glad.
