not only is this my first comment about someone's writing, its also the first piece of writing ive read...i just registered and let me just say that im really glad that i chose this piece to read and comment on...
let me just say that the introduction of this piece is everything an intro should be - captivating, well written...and really beautiful...
i have to agree with the poster above me by saying that i really like the fire-love analogy as well...i think that the fact that the intro only mentions fire, and doesnt make the connection to love too strongly, benefits the piece by establishing the premise of the analogy first...
the only thing i'd like to add is, because i like the idea of the analogy so much, i'd want you to re-enforce it a bit more...i think because you have so much to say, the purpose of the piece gets lost a little in the middle...it no longer becomes an extended metaphor likening fire to love, but rather likening fire to anything in life...the generalization takes away from the original message....
once again though, let me just say that i really like the introduction and, as the message subject says, i am very impressed ![]()
