Over the Edge...
It’s like I’m grasping
for that edge, the knife
of life that can bring back
all that was lost.
It’s like I’m an empty
space, like I’m just an
object left for people
to stare at.
They laugh at me,
berate me and put
me down. All just cruel
games of torture.
It tears me up inside,
but I know I can’t let
that weakness, that flaw
show.
If I do, they’ll use it
against me, bring all the
pain out, the haunting
memories.
