When I was around you
I felt like I knew all.
What I didn't know, you taught me.
You showed me what it was like to be in love--
Especially the part where you left me.
Now I feel like I know nothing again.
I am lost.

Shakespearian tongue-twister:

To sit in solemn silence
In a dark, dank dock
In a pestilential prison
With a lifelong lock;
Awaiting the sensation
Of a short, sharp shock
Of a cheap, chippy chopper
On a big black block.

I like this: it's very concise, very simple, but conveys a lot and carries a story. I have some points I'd like to make though, most of which are nitpicks (sorry).

When I was around you
I knew everything.

Personally, I think I'd rather you say the opposite; it wouldn't change the meaning of your words, simply the approach that you take. Something like "I knew nothing" feels like it might be a little bit more grabbing. The opening as-is didn't really grab me. You could also make the two lines into one, in order to create a stronger tone and emphasize this; it is the theme, after all.

What I didn't know, you taught me.
You taught me what it was like to be in love; I think that these two lines (this one and the next) might be better executed if you added in another element, and transitioned to where they leave. Also, the semi-colon would work better as a comma.
Including the part where you left me.
"Including" feels a bit awkward to me. Maybe "As well as" instead?

Now I feel like I know nothing again.
I am lost.

I really like the desolate tone you end this in. Very effective.
Overall, the piece is kind of barebones with imagery, but I think it works for this topic, and it has nice emotion. So, great job! :)

Hi! I like the simplicity of this poem. At first I thought it could do with some description but I think that the lack of description makes it easier to relate to, and I think that a lot of people would be able to relate to it. I think this line: "Including the part where you left me" could be a little more descriptive and tie in with the previous line, like, being taught what love is and then being taught what rejection is, or what sadness is, or what loneliness is, etc. The last line sums up the poem perfectly. Good job.
Matt.

Hello!

It's quite refreshing for a poem to be simple, but however refreshing it is then sometimes simplicity means that you may not convey the right amount of emotion. The transition between the two parts of your poem seems way too abrupt, and compared to the first part the second part is barely there. I'm hesitant about saying 'develop it', because I do enjoy the fact that you've really stripped this poem back.

However, without making it into something much more complicated, perhaps you could either edit your lines or add in a couple of new ones that build upon what you're already saying and just connect to the audience a little more. One more line between the two parts would do really well, just one that links them together and makes the transition a little less awkward.

Hope this helps!

It was very sweet ans sensitive, shows a lot of emotion in just a few lines. The brief description down't leave much to the imagination. It would be better if it was a little longer, but you did a good job :)

I like this. It's deep, but a quick read and tells a story, which I love. I think you could make it a bit longer, and go into more detail about your character relationship.

What I didn't know, you taught me.
You taught me what it was like to be in love;

I think 'taught' is a bit overused here. Could you maybe find another word to use?

You taught me what it was like to be in love;
Including the part where you left me.

I like the way these two lines sound, but I 'Including' is kind of awkward sounding.

Overall it was really good and had a lot of potential. Happy Review Day!

This is good! Short, but very powerful! I really like the last three lines, knowing what you have when it's finally gone- a bit cliché, yes, but you made it work in this case!

Keep it up! :)
