Walking with the Wind
The wind howls around
dark corners, breathes
its dire ire
all over the world.
The walls of the house
teeter and totter
like an accordion.
The bed rocks
uneasily, as if the
Beast is preparing
to pounce.
I picture the breezes
rolling across fields,
the cool spring air
breathing all over me.
Leaves dance and flutter
in miniature whirlwinds.
Birdsong fills the sky.
For a moment,
peace endures.
