The Lonely Page

This lonely page is the sole refuge
Of a very lonely Heart
Who beats lukewarm blood
Throughout the empty body.

It is very cold.

The empty body would try to shiver
And so warm itself,
But it finds no motivation.
Would the blood just swish around this shell of a body?

It is far too empty.

And the Heart, stiff and frozen,
Tries its best to beat
Without the needed life-giving warmth.
Is it possible it has functioned this long?

It is surely sputtering to a stop.

Is it really valid that mere
loneliness
Has paralyzed passion?
Murdered motivation?
Destroyed any hospitality that this being once harbored
When it was not a lonely Heart
Taking refuge in this lonely page?

For I am lonely, after all,
And it is very cold.

I must admit, this is the most depressing poem I've ever written. Is it too saturated with sob stories to be any good, or in my sorrow, did I actually create something worthwhile?

This was okay. It was a little bit slide-over-the-eyes, and I had trouble deciding if I liked it or not.

On the technical side of thing, I don't think you should have captialized "heart", unless Heart is a person.

But, the first stanza was really quite good. I liked it. Something about "lukewarm blood" was really good.

Thank you for reading it :). I'm making a physical portfolio of my better works...is this alright to put in there, or is it just too dull?

I really like this poem. I've never heard/read anything like this before. And that is GOOD. It was a little scarey, but that keeps that reader [like me] griped.
That was VERY GOOD.

I liked it! The only thing I could suggest you do is make it stronger. Make your words and imagery more vivid, express the cold and heat in ways that your reader can feel it, and make us feel your pain. If you can strengthen it, it will only be even better. :D
