ok this is a traditional haiku; first line has 5 syllables then 7, then 5. i may add more to it but i havent decided whether or not to yet... ok here it is:

Title unknown (need help please...)

Ah, mein Mann, mein Schatz.
Die nacht finde ich nicht tot.
Sondern romantisch.

please post comments! :)

Good haiku, though it's a little cliche :)

I'd suggest 'Wiederbelebung' as a title.

though we do not speak, we are by no means silent.

yeah it is pretty cliche lol. i can get away with that more when its not in english sometimes! ;)

we were doing 'aber' and 'sondern' today in grammar and that last line came into my head (guess its the february mood! lol) so i decided to make something out of it. as it was 5 syllables, thought i'd make a haiku.

might try some more but less cliched :) (if i can manage that!)

Aber and Sodern are the easiest words. Aside from "ist" of course. And "in", "in" translated to english is "in".
Ha.

I mochte ein Apfel aber die Milch ist auch gut.

Its a tad short.
You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, instead, you should read every single book to see what every book is about before you even come close to judging its viability.

sorry. i can give you a translation if you want. only reason i didn't is cause then people start critiquing the english version which isn't the original... i thought i'd try doing it without a translation first of all. also some words are hard to translate cause they mean more than one thing, or sometimes words don't have an equivalent meaning.

feel free to pm me if you want me to translate it for you though.

oh, quite true, that, KJ.

*runs google translator*

Ah, I love that thing, I do.. that is cool. A bit cliche, yes. I'll second Bob's title, too.

Now.. to try this in spanish. Inspire me to actually write something from a German haiku.. now that's beautiful :P

You never cease to amaze me, KJ.

Okay, I guess my comment didnt go through.

Ah, my husband, my treasure.
I do not find the night dead.
Separate romantically.

I think the entire fact that it's german makes it creative. Oh, and try to sound it out, people -- it sounds almost rhythmic.

Not too bad, once I knew what it meant. Though I'm not too sure if German is a good language for haiku. To my hears, German does not sound half as elegant as haiku should be. But it is cool to see people experimenting with the style in different languages. Haiku are tough in any language.
