There’s this thing called earth
I’ve been here since my birth
But this weight of sorrow is more than I can bear

I’ve heard of this eternal place
and I’m on a never-ending chase
to find this spot in the universe

Where the eagles fly
and the angels cry
There's the kingdom of eternity

The old witch once said
that the eagles were dead
but I said no, they're flying with the angels

At one point in my life
I’ll take your bloody knife
and stake it right through me

I’ll face the open skies
And I’ll meet your beautiful eyes
You’ll wash away my pain

But I’m stuck here, yet another while
I’ll walk this deserted land, one more mile
I’ll long for the skies, long for the eagles

They fly in the open sky
Without facing a single lie
with freedom in their hearts.

The old witch once said,
that I was dead
but no, I'm flying with the eagles
"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

Hi Demoness,
Loved the poem.

and I also loved how you rhymed most of the words but still managed to keep the poem from not making sense.

very clever and very deep.

Well done

These are my favorite. Do you want to know why? They are my favorite because they have true meaning. Something I like to call, soul. The rhyming was a little off I admit, but that's okay! That's what writing a poem is all about, it doesn't have to be what people expect, as long as it makes you happy and the eagles have a meaning then I say, have at it. I really really like...

This part! It is truly amazing. Eternal, forever it means never-ending! Same thing in the passion of your poem. I felt that it brought extra meaning to this piece.

Hello, this is great. It's flows really well. You did a nice job. Write more because I liked writing this.

Good luck and keep writing,

Alicia.

THANKYOU very much, all of you. Love all the good critizism I can get, and here I got plenty of that! But good critizism can be rough comments too off course, but i must say i prefer this kind! :P
