Don’t remind me that I love him.
Let’s keep that between you and me.
But if you ever see him,
Ask him, does he see?

We had a great thing going.
We were perfect for each other.
Even though I don’t deny it,
This shame I try to cover.

I had a surprise that day.
I’d tell him what he knew.
But even though I loved him,
He still bid me a dew.

Now things are how they used to be,
When we were just friends.
It just really sucks that,
I never tied loose ends.

Now they say he’s been set up,
But her name I don’t know.
I wish he wanted me back,
But it’ll never be so.

Why is it called idek? I watch this guy on youtube called idek but I don't think that has anything to do with this poem. It was good I like the part about how the person didn't tie loose ends. Over all there could be more of what this person is feeling other then what happened. It is good though if you made it longer with more detail, I think it would be better.

maybe its just me but I think this is the same poem I have seen some around this category with a different title
when the answer to everything is lost then turn to the question in everything, cause everything is the only place you probably have not search

Humph! Maybe it is the title. The poem is fine. It is one of those general "why" poems about love. It is well written, the only big problem I have is the title. I think next time you should try to find a different way to approach a poem if it is going to be about a topic widely discussed by a lot of people most of the time. You know, put some spice and flavour according to your style, something different but you; make it unique and special and memorable. The writing is excellent don't get me wrong but my reasons are clear.
Keep writing, I would like to see more of your work :).
The best is what you make it!

Hey screamandshout!

I really liked this poem. It's like one of those poems where 'I like him but does he like me' sort of. It was written quite well and good choice of words (especially with the line with a dew). Don't have much to say here but, I am not a big fan of rhyming poems but this had a different feel to it. One last comment to say before I bid you farewell is that I suggest the following changes to this stanza:
Now they say he’s been set up,
But her name I don’t know. do not would sound better
I wish he wanted me back,
But it’ll never be so. it will would sound a bit better

These are just suggestions so don't take them if you don't want them :smt003

Greetings I'm LastPaladin and sorry to say but this is angst and has no real emotion it tries to have raw unfettered emotion but it comes across rather as 'emo' or cliched. Nothing new is brought to table and there no imagery that truly hooks us, it's just a series of statements from you're mind. Give us a metaphor, give us something to hook on! Give us something to make us experience the torment you feel, the torture that riding your mind, like an ethereal madness. Show us the horror really capture the anger you feel for this person, thoughts like this work in a poem if giving more to stand on.

Hope this helps.
You poor take courage
You rich take care
This earth was made a common treasury
For everyone to share
All things in common
All people one
We come in peace
The orders came to cut them down

SCREAM! and SHOUT! Hello.

Ask him, does he see?

I’m not sure what it is about this line, but for some reason, I keep thinking that ‘if’ would sound better than ‘does.’

He still bid me a dew.

Actually, it is spelt “adieu.”

When we were just friends.

This, like that first little tweak I pointed out, doesn’t have an actual reason accept that, were you to change ‘just’ to ‘only’ you will have an extra syllable and it would help with the rhythm here.

Right off the bat, I am wondering what the title means. Idek? Webster says it’s not real, so what does it mean?
But all together, I think you’ve set up for a very nice love poem. I mean, it isn’t particularly extraordinary but it isn’t bad either and that’s mostly because it is a very cliché topic. Looking at it from a more original perspective would have made this far more interesting.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.
