The Plot:

The Kingdom. A sprawling empire, ruled by the tyrannical King Ulfgir. For years now, the people have been slaves to his will. For years now, writers, actors, artists and musicians, all those who dared to imagine, have been driven from the Kingdom, left to die in the icy wastes beyond it's borders.

But there is something the King does not know- beneath the Kingdom, there is a lake housed in an icy cavern, and on the lake there is the Undertown.

The Undertown is a sanctuary for the outcasts- a great city, teeming with life and colour. For almost as long as creativity has been driven out of the empire, it has been coming to the Undertown.

But now, there are rumours that the King has learnt their secret. Some say that he has even sent spies to infiltrate their community, and destroy it from within.

People begin to whisper, point fingers, and turn on each other. Dark days are ahead, and no one can be trusted...

Appearance:

Tarquin likes the colour red -- he dresses in it whenever possible. He wears the typical outfit of a bard, a multi-purpose outfit. His leather clothes double as both costume and riding gear. While he is a slight figure (not that you could tell, as he plays his Lyre sitting down) his fingers are long and nimble.

Personality: True Neutral
Tarquin has two main loves in life: women and good music. As a musician, at least, he has the latter covered. Tarquin is friendly and well-meaning. He enjoys the company of good friends, but doesn't talk much himself. He prefers to let his music do the talking. As Tarquin was born in the Undertown he has a optimistic outlook on life and leads him to trust strangers almost immediately.

Flaws/Weaknesses: Over-trusting, shy, and weak.

History: Tarquin was born in the Undertown and so is a true child of creativity. He picked up a lyre at the age of four and refused to give it back until his father agreed to teach him. Since then he became a studious young man with a sharp ear and natural musical sense.

He lives alone but is often found at the tavern with friends and other musicians. All of his time is devoted to his craft and, like the little boy he once was, he refuses to leave his instrument for long.

Lately, with the talk of the King increasing, Tarquin has begun to wonder what life is like outside the Undertown. He can't imagine what oppression must feel like, but something tell him it's a feeling he could capture in his music. But to achieve that, Tarquin would have to leave the Undertown.

Profession: Kingdom Spy- posing as a writer.

Personality: Since a very young age, Cain has known how to manipulate people to get what he wants. He was spoiled as a child, which has given him the impression that he’s better than everyone else and thus deserves special treatment.

As everyone else is “inferior,” Cain only cares about himself, and will leave people to die without a second thought if it will save his skin.

Cain is also a good actor- it’s one of his many tools of manipulation. This was one of the reasons he was sent to the Undertown.

He enjoys luxury, lying and deception. Usually, Cain tries to be by himself as much as he can, but in the Undertown, he’ll try and gain as many “friends” as possible.

Flaws/Weaknesses: Arrogant, selfish, manipulative, untrustworthy, an overall git.

Up for Love?: No- Cain is far too busy for romance.
