Okay, more specifically, Raleigh, North Carolina, but anywhere in North Carolina will do. Here's what I need: The weather. That's the main thing. For anyone that's ever been there, how's the climate? Is it hot, cold, humid, dry? I also have a scene where something is found in the middle of the forest, or at least a bunch of trees. Would that work? And I need a scene where a couple of people are free rock climbing, are there places to do that? I mean, big mountains, or rock formations or something. Even small mountains. :) What are the people like? Nice? Mean? Snobby? Any and all info about North Carolina is welcomed.

Read Coid Mountain, by Charles Frazier. That'll give you everything, down to bird species...and it's lovely, besides. Granted, the information is from 1864, but often, mountains don't change that much in a hundred and fifty years.

Mountains and hiking and forests wont be a prblm. I live in the other carolina but we are up there a lot. The temp. is mild, always about 70 to 90. Outside of Raleigh, there are plenty of trees and forests that are quite pretty. And the Appalachians, of course. Lets see, there is the Highlands, Mt. Mitchell, King's, etc. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/kidspg/geog.htm
"Old times" never come back and I suppose it's just as well. What comes back is a new morning every day in the year, and that's better.
