...I'll talk about it for him. His mental health is not well, due to a lack of self-care, and much stress put on him. He is trying to please everyone, and does not understand the toll it is taking on him. He is anxious and terrified at the fact that his parents are going to check his grades later this week, and he's doing awful. And not to mention he is prioritizing is way off, placing his friends before his schoolwork.

Oh my... that sounds awful. Well, if you have missing assignments, then don’t worry about me, I won’t be upset if you leave to work on stuff. And I’m sure your other friends will understand, too. Remember to take breaks every once in a while, and give yourself some time to just unwind and relax. As for your parents, I’m not sure if this will work, but maybe if you let them know that you’re trying your best, they won’t be so harsh..? You have a while until the end of the quarter, right? You still have time to get your grades up.

Uh oh... well... tell him that things will be okay, that grades aren’t the end of the world. This isn’t his final product. His feelings about this are 100% valid, and he’s doing amazing just as he is. He’s got this. I believe in him.
