Photographs

Flipping through the pages of forgotten memories
Every photo depicts what we used to be
But then I noticed a deeper secret exposure
In every frame you were frozen with burning love for me
Colors in the picture weren't just plants and trees
Chemistry was flowing like the Euphrates
Like a bee
It stuck to me

I was blind and you saw everything
I didn't see your flame until those pictures changed
Now that it's over with

CHORUS
These photographs are pouring like rain
I'm hoping that it isn't too late
They say a picture is worth many words
I'd trade them all for love
So we won't get lost
Stuck in the past photographs

Slideshow's playing to the music of a constant theme
Heartbreak caught in motion capturing
In the middle of watching I skipped through all of the talking
And paused at every emotion you tried to hide from me
Every cryptic smile unlocked a mystery
Every drop of passion flipped from scene to scene
Bounced from you
And into me

I was numb and you felt everything
I didn't know your pain until that movie sang
Now that it's over with

CHORUS
These photographs are pouring like rain
I'm hoping that it isn't too late
They say a picture is worth many words
I'd trade them all for love
So we won't get lost
Stuck in the past photographs

BRIDGE
All we have left are memories
Handful of moments I'll never forget
We can replay our history
I want a chance to rewind it instead
Start the album over
Turn the page to a new creation
Cause this can't be the last of us
These photographs can be retaken

CHORUS
These photographs are pouring like rain
I'm hoping that it isn't too late
They say a picture is worth many words
I'd trade them all for love
So we won't get lost
Stuck in the past photographs

I love the theme and idea of this poem. I also love the rhymes. I can't point out any grammar mistakes of something like that, in my eyes this was perfect. Keep writing, great imagery, by the way.

I have NEVER in my life reviewed lyrics. I rarely even review poetry, and I've always figure that lyrics are just too far out of my league (I'm more a story person m'self)... but the title caught my attention... heheh, well, you see, there's a Nickleback song with the same title, and some stupid birdie in my head went, "WHOAH, is there some one out there that ACTUALLY plagiarized a NICKLEBACK song?" Of course, that little birdie was very much so mistaken XD

I'm pretty impressed. There was some really poetic stuff...

Colors in the picture weren't just plants and trees
Chemistry was flowing like the Euphrates

I don't find this particularly poetic, but I think these lines were probably my favorite. Very nice choice of words, "Euphrates!" Hahah, that's a fun word...

Handful of moments I'll never forget

Just a technical thing... Handful? Handfuls, yes?

And I shall end on a positive note:

Slideshow's playing to the music of a constant theme
Heartbreak caught in motion capturing
In the middle of watching I skipped through all of the talking
And paused at every emotion you tried to hide from me
Every cryptic smile unlocked a mystery
Every drop of passion flipped from scene to scene
Bounced from you
And into me

*claps* I loved this... er, is it a stanza? I mean, I know that's what it is in poetry... anywho, this was QUITE poetic, but not like, SO poetic that novices (when it comes to poetic things) like me aren't going "...huh?"

(and by the way, I didn't just quote that big stanza to get 1k characters... I had 1k beforehand... almost XD)

Like I said, I'm not an expert in this department, but I liked this quite a lot... hope I helped in some small way even though I gave almost NO insight.

You guys are awesome! I'm so glad you liked it. I stray away from actual poetry because I have limited knowledge when it comes to structure and lines, ect. Lyrics are a lot more free flowing to me. P.S I totally forgot about Nickelback's song of the same title, so maybe I should subtitle this "Not by Nickelback".
