I've never read them, but the fact someone told me part of the dialogue went like this -- "Sorry," [character] apologised, has put me off forever.

That's just ridiculous.

I Just Read ERAGON and ELDEST!

You poor soul. I can only imagine what effect the most cliched books in history can have on a person's psyche.

If you don't count the fact that they are total rip-offs of LOTR, Star Wars, and a buch of other books they really aren't all that bad. They are very simply written and easy to read, which some people like. In my opinion, they lack character development and depth in general. Eldest is a bit better in those subjects, but it is far too long and quite boring towards the middle. Honestly I prefered Eragon because it was a lot less boring. How well they sold just goes to show you what a big difference good marketing makes. They're not terrible books, but i'm not a fan.

These books are mostly crap. While they can be interesting, I can't believe he was allowed to publish them when they are totally plagiarizing Tolkien and Terry Brooks and the like!

I'm so sorry for you. We've lost you to the literary scourge that is: Inheritance.
There's always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it's not so much that I want to kill her, it's just, I want her to not be alive anymore.

Maybe you should read the other Eragon thread. I think it's five pages of bashing posts, it should give you some things to think about.

"The young man was young."

Hah hah, is that an actual line? XD

Also, I seem to recall someone quoting something along the lines of, "You're name is unique. Only a few people in the world have it." Not exactly unique then, is it? :P
I wrote the above just for you.

it's a simple book written for simple-minded people.
the first one wasn't too bad, but the second was just ridiculous. end of story.

Underneath all the ripping-off is an okay book. I'm not a big fan of Inheritance, but the first book was okay. The second book, not so much. Way too boring, and predictable, apart from the end.
Be yourself; everybody else is already taken.

I came, I saw, I conquered.

When you're being nice to your character, you're being bad to your book.

I hope I’ve never been quoted, tbh
