Mia couldn't help but stare as Lynne brushed her hair, humming so softly she was sure that Emma couldn't hear in the next room. Mia was sitting on the counter in Emma's bathroom, kicking her feet in such a manner it kind of reminded her of Hinaichigo from an anime she likes.
"Stop staring at me, Mia!" Lynne said, startling the now-flushed Mia.
"Sorry, Lynne, but it's just that... You're so much better than me at everything, it's not fair! You're smarter, prettier... You have everything!" She told her friend, jumping off the counter with a hand gesture toward Lynne's perfection.
'If I'm so perfect ,why is it that you're the one with all the sexy men falling at your feet?" Lynne asked, knowing Mia would probably try to come up with a stupid answer that started with 'But Lynne!' and she continued, "Plus, you're definitely more assertive and more confident than me," Lynne pointed out, as Emma walked into the room, holding the straightener she'd been using moments before.
"Mia, you know, Lynne told me something you might find interesting about why we think you're so much more confident than us. You want to tell her?" She asked, turning to Lynne with a snicker and a sly smile Mia knew meant embarrassment at any moment.
"Yea, it's actually very interesting. They say that girls who masturbate are much more confident than the innocent," Lynne said, snickering with a wanna-explain-that? look on her face.
Mai flushed, and searched or something to say to that, "Innocent! Please! You, who's obsessed with yaoi, are in no way innocent! I saw the expression on your face during that Okane Ga Nai OVA*(1) earlier!" Mia exclaimed, loving the way they could share everything, Emma being the only one to think, did she just confess to masturbating? Dear God, too much information... I hope not.
The girls were all laughing, and at that moment, it really felt great to be sixteen and going out. Gotta love teen night at the club about twenty minutes away, right?
Lynne felt a vibration around her ass, and knew that meant a text. She pulled out her phone, and smiled.
"Who is it? Is Casey having more fun in California without us again?" Mia asked, referring to the girls' other best friend who moved away about eight months before.
"No, actually, it's Ashley. She said she's coming tonight, and she totally wants to get away from Nick that creepy guy who's totally into her. She said he's been way too all-over her, and keeps calling her, see?" Lynne told the others, showing hr phone to them with a silent, crooked grin.
For some reason, one that Mia couldn't put her finger on, that pissed her off a bit. Nah, not a bit, more like a lot...
"Well, I think we're pretty much done getting ready, all that's left is to put on our costumes and bring a change of clothes for the circle afterward. We probably won't join anyone else, 'cause it's Samhain and all, and I wanted it to be just us!" Mia said, bouncing up and down slightly.
"Jesus Christ, Emma! Just call it Halloween like a normal person for once," Mia rolled her eyes as the same time as Emma, and Lynne fought back laughter, noticing this.
Their exactly the same, yet total opposites! Lynne thought.
.:~~~**~**~~~:.

"Well, this is different than I expected," Emma said, staring at the club in front of her.
"Ha! Of course it is. Now, follow my lead. We can pass for eighteen, right?" Mia said, looking back at her now-dumbfounded best friends.
"What? I thought you said it was teen night!" Lynne yelled, upset yet excited that gay men might be inside.
Emma could tell her thoughts as well as if they were her own, and thought, jeez, you and your thing for gay men... I'll never understand it. Okay, well, maybe I kinda do understand. But this is a bit extreme!
"Yes, I did say that. I just lied, is all," Mia explained calmly, and in a quiet voice, 'Now, just be cool and seductive. Our costumes will get us in even if our age can't."
And that was when Lynne realized why Mia wanted slutty costumes this year. It's always an ulterior motive, and to think this year I just thought she wanted to show of her rapidly growing breasts! How naive of me. Lynne realized, shaking her head as she followed Mia, with Emma in trail.
The three walked up to the bouncer, who was dressed as some kind of cowboy, or something, in their own outfits. Lynne was the Cheshire Cat, complete with shorter-than-anime-school-girl skirt. Mia was Alice In Wonderland, though it was a little messed-up and twisted... Just like her. Ha! More like Malice in Horrorland! And Emma was a dark Angel, with black wings and a tight, ripped white button-up, with an unnaturally skinny pair of skinny jeans.
It uncannily fit them, and the bouncer just nodded at the friends, eyes lingering less on their height and younger faces and more on their cleavage and asses.
All three noticed, and as Mia smiled, proud of herself for not only getting in but attracting stares, even if they were from ugly bouncers.
Lynne thought, Perverted old man, you're worse than Fukuyama from that anime Mia's brother has, Girls Bravo!*(2)
And Emma just thought, Well, the confident thing here just proves my point about earlier...
Mia sighed, scanning the crowd until she finally focused on the music. She'd definitely heard it before... Oh! This is that Potato Song from Truth Squad!*(3) She thought, already pulling the hands of her best friends.
It was no more than five songs nd one band break later when the girls sat down, exhausted, as an already half-full table. They recognized a couple of people at it, and were instantly welcomed by the tipsy Ashley, beer in hand.
"I was wondering if you were going to be able to get in!" Mia yelled with a sudden second wind, but then frowned when she saw the beer, "Ashley, you coul dget into a lot of trouble for havign that. I mean, even I draw the line somewhere."
"OH, come on, live a little! Social drinking never hurt anyone, did it, guys?" Ashley gestured toward the strangers and one othr familiar, yet angry, face.
"I'm getting out of here, I see enough of these problems at home, and won't be responsible for this crazy bitch anymore," Mary said, definitely ready to leave, as usual.
"Every party needs a pooper! That's why..." Ashley started, then exclaimed, "Woah! I'm DIZZY! It's kind of cool, guys, here!" She thrust her beer at Emma, spilling it all over her, 'Oops."
"Ashley! Jesus fucking Christ! Stay there, all right? I'll go call Nick or Leon o come get you, and a little later we'll tell your parents you're staying with me, ad you can just slep wherever you want, okay?" Emma continued, not waiting for an answer, 'Now I'm going to go clean up, and Mia, just go with Lynne out to the dance floor, have a little more fun while I clean up, ya know? Woudn't want to spoil the night or something. Just don't try anything funny with her, or else!" Emma laughed, winking at Mia like she knew a secret.
Then again, she kind of did.
And Mia gladly grabbed Lynne's hand and pulled her to the dance floor, just as a song they both love came on the sound system the club uses when the band's on break. It was Hello Seattle, and suited more for couples dancing, so the two girls, of course, made fun of everyone by being a pretend couple and giving each other the same seductive looks that meant Hey-there-sexy-haha-just-kidding. It's kind of hard to understand the falsity if you aren't a part of it, and so as Emma came out of the bathroom, now sporting the same shirt with such a major water spot on it, it was practically see-through, to see the two holding each other like that, she started to feel like a third wheel, and sat down at he now-empty table only Ashley remained at, and let Ashley put her head in her lap as she mumbled on about being alone and other nonsense shit, until the drunk girl passed out, now simply awaiting the horrible hangover happy to be delivered tomorrow.
Mia led, of course, being more assertive, and Lynne was still obviously playing around. Even though Mia always thought before that she was just playing , too, recently she realized that maybe there was something there. But, it was totally against all friendship's unspoken rules, not to mention completely one-sided and hopeless.
But still, aren't best friends supposed to be honest with each other?
So Mia had only the thoughts of honesty in her head as she pulled Lynne out of the dance floor and into the bathroom, "What's going on, Mia? Is everything alright? You've been acting kinda weird lately, and you haven't been flirting with guys in public places, like usual... Ah! Not that I meant you're a slut or anything, just that...' Lynne stopped, seeing Mia's make-up start to run, and Emma burst through the door with Ashley, who was running to the toilet, for puking purposes, of course. Hell, she is hammered, after all.
"Lynne, Mia, Ashley, come on. Let's ditch his lousy Popsicle stand!" Emma got a bit more cheerful, hoping her best friend didn't talk about her feeling again. God, it's hard enough to listen to it when it doesn't even concern you!
Mia gave a her a smile that meant thank you as clearly as if she'd spoken it. That was just how well the three understood each other.

~References~

(1) Okane Ga Nai is a very... mature Yaoi that one of my best friends is obsessed with. It's about Ayase and Kanou (Ayase = Uke, Kanou = Seme~)
(2) Fukuyama is an incredibly perverted guy from a mature anime called Girls Bravo, and is known to be, how you'd say, PROUD or female sexuality, and his own as well. Also, he has a hilarious allergic reaction to males. xD I'd recomend this anime any day- to those who can handle it. ;)
(3) The Potato Song by the band Truth Squad refers to a song and band from a Sarah Dessen book entitled This Lullaby. It's amazing, and I'd tell anyone who loves a good story to read it. I've read it at least three times now, and, in fact, all of her books are amazing.

I just wanted to warn you that you introduce too many characters for a first chapter. It is overwelming.. I mean, the first sentence has three.. Jeeze.

Not gonna lie I didn't read all this. I flipped to the bottom and saw anime references and became immediately uninterested.

On a lighter note, the dialogue in this was pretty believable. I was transported to the world of preteen girls :) Nice job with that

Cheers,
Lena

alright, I read some more, and I want to address the believability of this.

1) I don't know much about clubs, there ain't any where I'm from, but don't you have to be 21 to get in? It's pretty hard to pass for 21 when you are 16, and usually you'd get ID'ed

2) They would definitely get ID'ed when they bought drinks.

3) You talk about rapidly growing breasts.. I"m 16 and I don't know anyone my age who's boobs are still growing rapidly (unless they're gaining weight, ha)

4) This isn't believability, but the little "references" things add nothing to the story. So I'd leave em out.

Awuh, she's just mean. She didn't even read the whole thimg, so she can't properly criticize you. While I did like it, the characters got a bit confusing and mixed a bit. I don't mind anime references- hell, anyone who is stuck up enough to stop reading because of a reference kind of pisses me off. Anywho, keep writing! It's good. Two thumbs-up. :)

The references are only there because they were actually said- you see, these things really happened, wit a few changes of information. Such as names, genders, etc. And, actualy, you're right on the money- becase they are gaining weight in RL, but I didn't want to be mea osmoeone I'm close to. The whole club idea was put forth by someone I based a character off of, and they've sorta been going with me on it step-by-step, so that I get every side of the story on this particular part. It's important to know that the three know everything about each other, so that the following storyline doesn't seem pointlesly dramatic. Because after specific events, i could no longer get that information,
Spoiler
we had a big fight in mid November, and it turns out that cause most of the rest t obe in th epoint of view of one caracter more than the others.

I'm with Lena on the too-much-characters part. Even though your grammar and spelling was perfectly fine, I got confused by all of the characters. I had no clue what was even going on at some parts! Still, good effort.
Stay excellent!
