As he held her bloodied hand in his he could feel hot tears rimming his eyes but never would he let his other half see his tears. She rest against his chest unconcious with slow steady breaths he was badly shaken to the very core but knew he had to get her to the nearest doctor or she would risk infection and lose her beautiful hand he had taken as his wife only rhose precious hourss before. Detting her in the passenger seat he climbed into the driver side starting the car and stepping on the gas. Cursing himself as he sped down the dirt road he couldn't stop the thought of what hell he was putting them through but she wanted adventure and that's just what he'd promised her. Stroking her graceful face he could see her heart beat softly in her throat. When they'd arrived he scooped her unconsious body into his muscular arms and made haste to the doctor.
Stepping inside, the office looked deserted, he prayed she would be able to get medical aid. An old man about sixty or seventy with silver grey hair and sky blue eyes stepped out taking shock to the young man with the young woman in his arms but really to the blood that smeared her hand and face in a rosy red color and the look of pure horror that covered her beloveds face. The old man brought them to the back where she was placed on a metal table with a tray of instruments that sat next to it. Her alrready pale body look ghost white under the light and her forehead began to glisten with beads of sweat. Even at the sight of her condition the old man who without a doubt now to him had to be the doctor didn't panic just told him to wait outside the door take a few deep breaths and wait for him to come out and tell him how she did. He looked down at her fragile figure scared but with knowing that she was in good hands. He nodded to the old man and stepped out the room, closing the cherry wood door behind him.
An hour, a long and agonizing hour ticked by when the doctor came out. He looked into the young mans eyes knowing all to well what fear gripped his heart. Reasurring him that she would be just fine, he stepped aside to let him in. She hadn't come to but when she did he would be waiting right there by her side. The color had come back to her body and she looked calm lying there. He looked over his shoulder to see the doctor standing in the doorway with his hands folded together in front of him with a straight face. She would wake in a little bit he had to have patience only then would they know if she would have full use of her hand. With time she did awake opening her gental brown eyes into the eyes of her love who took a sigh of relief and smiling gave her a kiss on the head. She sat up slowly and saw her bandaged hand then the kind old man who she took to be the doctor in the doorway. She thanked him and began to realize the throbbing that had started in her hand. The old man left them but not before reminding them they would have to change the bandage every so often. He wrapped his love into a warm embrace feeling his tension that had built up ease away. Letting go of each other they walked out hand in hand. For now they woudl be ok and that's all they wanted.
