Flooding Tears
Chapter 2

“Snap out of it! Can you hear me? Snap. Out. Of. It!”

It was the policeman. He was shaking me back and forth and I finally came back to reality.

“Are you hurt at all?” the policeman asked.

“No,” I whispered. It was a lie.

“Okay, we’ll keep in touch with you. Right now, you need to stay with your Aunt Bianca. She’ll be moving in for a while. But after things have settled down a bit, you’ll be moving in with her, wherever she currently lives. She’s here now, and she’s gonna take care of you. It’ll be alright. I promise.”

It was a bigger lie, told by a policeman. Go figure.

“Hey sweetie. Are you okay? Physically speaking.” Aunt Bianca asked gently.

“Why do I matter? Are they okay? Are Mom and Dad okay?!”

I had started yelling. Nothing mattered anymore. Not me, not my aunt, not that messed up car. What mattered, was the people inside!

“This is all my fault! When they left, I was so relieved because they were so perfect and I was always the opposite. I wanted them gone, but I never meant it to be like this! Why?!?! Why me? Why them? They didn’t do anything. They raised me to their best ability and I let them down by being happy they were gone for a while. I’ve always been so arrogant on the inside. I never showed it but it was there, steaming up! Why couldn’t I have been perfect too? Why….”

Aunt Bee tried bringing me inside, but it didn’t work. My feet were nailed into the streets by the devil who caused this.

“C’mon sweetie, I know it’s hard, but I’m here. We need to get you inside now. You can do anything you want there. I’m appointed to take care of you, I don’t want to let you or your parents down.” Aunt Bee had whimpered desperately in between sniffles. She was trying to hold back tears, but wouldn’t let them fall. I looked at her.

Wondering the whole time, would they make it?

She knew exactly what I was saying through the look on my face.

“They’re – they’re…. dead, honey. I didn’t want to be the one to tell you but…”

It snapped inside me. I wanted somebody to help me. To care. I needed a shoulder, to lean on. A chest, to cry onto. That shoulder, that chest, was my aunt. She was immediately there, surrendering her entire life, to come save mine. Rain no longer flooded the streets. Tears did. Tears flooded the streets. My tears.

This chapter was really good. I love the emition behind it. I love the lost and heartbroken feeling I got when I read it. I think you could have combined the first two chapters but I understand why you didn't. You should try and make your chapters longee though. You are on the right track with your story and I can't wait to see how it develops. Keep up the good work and keep writing. :)
Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead :o <3

Hey that was a very good story. I thought you could have put a lot more emotion into it. I don't know if I am right but a phrase like " to their best ability" is incorrect. It should be "to the best of their ability". Anyway smile it is good.
