I'm going to give my comments on each individual painting then give you a quick overall review. Here goes...
1.Whoah, only three inches? Impressive. Ignoring the quality, I think that you've used colours quite well and it's a very nice layout. I know you didn't take long, but if you were too I'd say make it look less one dimensional to bring it our even more. Other than that, like I said, well chosen colours! And the others are really abstract, I like!
2. Okay, so you just enjoy doing little paintings? . Anyway, with the first one I think you've used good colors and I like how the main image and background contrast with eachother. And as for the second one, I can't really see it properly, and I can't actually make out what it is. I think it's just because of the quality, but make sure you are using bold lines!
3. The waves are very good, however it looks a bit too curved and not exactly like the wave is moving. Try adding movement by just adding more lines of different shades and tones As for the one next to it, very abstract and really good composition.
4. I do like the techniques you've used for this but it's kinds of confusing for me because it looks like a lot of snow yet it's not snowing? And the part behind the plants isn't covered in snow? I mean, it doesn't have to be snowing, but I'm just finding this rather odd.
5. With the first one, I really like it! I love how it's in a cloud, but there is a sky with a rainbow. Again, lovely colours! And as for the random horse drawing, very nice detail!
6. Aye', again I really like what you've done here. I think I like the top right one the best, it looks very bold and bright and it's really clear and you've sued good colours. Well done!
Overall: Well, I think that you are a very good artist. I mean, if I ever tried to paint this tiny of an image I'd fail and I'd fail miserably. What I found constantly good in these paintings was the colours that you used, I think you have a good eye for this. You've used good contrast so good job! To improve, you could perhaps use thicker lines and also take more time with paintings if you really want a good outcome. My favourite? Number two, the one on the left.
Keep painting, you've got loads of potential! ~Tamara x
Someone told me there's a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers, in her hair.
The first four are felt painting with acrylics? If so, you earn major brownie points from this corner.
As Inbetweener already mentioned, you have a good eye for color. You also have a pretty good eye for composition, especially with your more abstract pieces.
You might want to consider using different sizes of brushes. Right now, especially in the case of the tree branches, it looks like you've used only one size of brush. Using multiple sizes of brush will give you a bit more control over your paintings and will actually speed up the process once you get used to using various sizes.
For something whipped up in a few minutes these are really good. I want to know what your insperation for some of these are. If you can PM with an answer. I would love to see more of these!
Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing. -- Benjamin Franklin
Impressive for quick paintings. Then again, I'm always impressed with painters. The constant changing of olours and brushes... Aye, it takes patience and a steady hand beause you really can't make a mistake.
Well done! I like the one with the trees and night sky the best. Reminds me of that point right before night where everything seems so calm and still, when the air is at it's clearest and crispest.
