Camp Demi-God

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a great hero, a child of a Greek or Roman God? Well, welcome to Camp Demi-God, home of the children of such Gods. Here the children of Jupiter and Zeus sleep in the same Summer camp cabin and tournaments are a seasonly happenings. Are you ready to become a hero?

Both Roman and Greek Demi-Gods live here, for safety and convinence, but there is an age-long rivalry between the two cultures. They tend to clash, and often go aganist each other for challenges.

Ran by the activity director Chiron the centaur and Head of Security Lupa the wolf, Camp Demi-God promises the safest- and most fun- home for Demi-Gods.

The Camp:

Each child of a certain God and their Roman and Greek half-siblings live in a certain cabin. They are shaped in a horse-shoe shaped round with the twelve Olympian God, even the ones that don't have kids.

Behind that, a giant field called 'The field of Mars' looms for war games. Beyond that, a small forest. The cabin is equipped with the normal camping activities- a volleyball net, a river for canoeing, etc. To the left of the main camp area, a Roman style Coliseum sits for Tournaments. Mostly, use your imaginations.

Name: Timothy Eight

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Parents:: Heather Eight and Pluto (Roman)

Appearance: Way too skinny for his age, with black shoulder length hair and dead eyes. Always carrying a (brail) book about death either in his arms or in the messenger bag he always has with him. He has a Metallica band tee and black baggy cargo pants, complete with silver converse sneakers.

Personality: Way too smart for his own good, knows a little bit too much about death and life. Is a total bookworm and likes to keep to himself. Doesn't talk much. Likes psychological games and anything involving horror and gore. Sometimes, if he spends enough time in one place, he can sorta make up a layout of it so that he knows where certain things are, like at camp, he uses landmarks and sounds/smells to tell where he's at.

Likes: Books, as long as they're brail so he can read them. Also likes anything involving horror and psychological games. He also loves to go horseback riding, but isn't aloud to do it alone because he can't see where he's riding.

Dislikes: People in general, but especially girls. They make him nervous for some reason he can't explain. He also hates being cornered.

Skills: He's good at fantasizing about ways to kill people, but his only real skill is being able to retain information and sensing other's emotions. He can also control people of the underworld and dead skeleton soldiers.

Weaknesses: He's blind, so he's not much use on the battlefield.

Brief History: Timothy was brought to camp at a very young age, mainly because his mother Heather was a drunk drug addict that couldn't take care of any child, much less one that was blind and as powerful as Timothy. Growing up, his mother abused him and molested him, the second one being a fact very few people know about and when he was brought to camp, bruises covered nearly his entire body along with cuts on his arms and a scar along his side, where his mother accidentally stabbed him once when she was drunk. He's still slightly timid and afraid of getting hit at times, and he still cuts at night when he should be sleeping because he thinks about the time he spent with his mother and this makes him want to cut. His biggest dream is to become a warrior, even though he knows he would be mocked for even trying. He thinks he can do it because he's convinced he can see well by sensing people's shadows, and feeling vibrations in the earth. Though these are not proven, most people are convinced that these powers aren't real and so refuse to let him fight.

Up for love?: Yes. Either gender.

Other: His only real treasures are a book his mother gave him about his native home land, Brazil, and an emerald pendant he wears around his neck at all times, also given to him by his mother. He protects these objects with his life.

Parents: Leah Shoemaker and Apollo (Greek version)

Appearance: Naomi has chin-length blond hair, with long bangs she's constantly playing around with. Her eyes are a golden brown color, like a perfectly roasted marshmallow, and her face is round and baby-like. She has a small nose and big, pouting lips. She looks a lot younger than she is. Naomi's short and boyish and athletic.

Personality: Naomi is quiet and thoughtful. She is gifted with archery, but her real passions are music and writing. She is brilliant with the piano and the pen. Her poetry is beautiful but sad. Naomi is nice, but she can easily be pushed around. She is often melancholy. But she's a fighter.

Likes: Naomi likes writing, playing the piano, and shooting with a bow and arrow. In addition to these Apollo-esque qualities, she likes animals and small children.

Dislikes: Naomi hates educational pursuits such as science and math. She also dislikes being disrupted in the middle of writing or playing piano.

Strengths and Weaknesses: She always keeps going, even when things are hard, but Naomi is prone to deep depressions. She can be a bit of a pushover, though when she keeps things bottled up they often explode from her at bad times. She's fast and strong and pretty brave, but she's definitely naive. Also, she's pretty awkward and shy and has trouble making friends.

Brief History: Naomi was dropped off at camp, abandoned by her mother, as a baby. Her mom thought it would be safer and was full of pain at the abandonment of her one true love, who looked so much like the baby. So she left her at the step of the Apollo cabin. Naomi grew up getting bullied and with the knowedge that her mother didn't want her. But she gained strength and a few friends along the way.

Up for Love? Naomi is straight but really shy. A relationship might be possible with the right guy.

Other: She is very close to Chiron, similar to Annabeth, who dislikes Naomi for some reason.

Name: Marina "Mini" Mavor

Parents (Mortal and Godly): Jeffrey Mavor & Aphrodite (Greek)

Appearance: Mini is as beautiful as her mother, with a hint of her father's appearance. She has long brown hair that looks red in the light, and big brown eyes to match. She always wears contacts, and changes the color a lot, but she usually has icy blue, dark brown, and olive green. Mini always has her hair straight or curly, if she feels like it. She is average height for her age, and she has a slim and skinny figure. She likes to wear a lot of eyeliner and makeup, and surprisingly, it looks good on her. Mini likes to wear boyish, yet girly clothing, and she usually wears a lot of necklaces. Mini always wears a pair of boots (with little heels) or flats, even in battle.

Personality: Mini is very hard to figure out. First, she's nice, kind-hearted and generous, then all of a sudden, she's snobby and speaks her mind. But here's one thing that's for sure- Mini is flirtatious. She loves to flirt, and is a total femme fatale. Mini usually flirts with her eyes. She never really talks when she's flirting, unless she's really interested in the guy. Mini really is kind, but she usually gets ticked off, which cues her cruel side. She's a secret nerd. She always stops and thinks about why things are the way they are (she got that from her mortal father). Mini takes pride in her beauty, and may take it a bit too far.

Other Personalities (Likes, Dislikes, Strengths, Weaknesses): Mini likes flowers. Roses, tulips, daisies, any kind of flowers. She absolutely hates gossip, even if she spreads them too. Mini also hates bugs. If she sees one, she'll run away screaming. Mini is an excellent sword fighter, and always makes herself look presentable. She is very hard to figure out when you first meet her.

Brief History (Remember to include how they got to camp!): Mini was born to Aphrodite and Jeffrey Mavor, a teacher at Mini's former elementary school. She never knew about her mother until her dad told her about her mother on her 7th birthday. Mini then grew up knowing that she's a demi-god, then the time came when Jeffrey thought that Mini was ready for Camp Demi-God. He brought her there when she turned 15, and she's been there ever since.

Parents: Edward Springwater and Ceres (Roman)

He may not look like it, but he has his mother's emotional pull for the seasons.
Personality: He's kind to his fellow Roman demigods, but seems to hate his name since people often teased him about it being a girl's name. He makes flirting look like a severe challenge to normal guys since mortal girls can't keep their eyes off him. If you want him to harvest something that you can't handle, he'll do it without breaking a sweat.
Other Personalities: He loves to harvest anything that can be harvested, but hates it when someone insults his mother. Like it when someone respects the traditional harvest that is in his mother's honor. Although he hadn't seen her in his life, he loves and respects his mother. His biggest weakness is the love of his father, who raised him right and told him tales of Ceres to keep Avalon in touch with his mother's side of his roots.
Brief History: After Avalon was born, he was put in his father's care all his life. He lived through the torment and torture of a mortal life until he and his father were attacked by an ogre. Edward managed to escape through the skin of his teeth, but sixteen-year-old Avalon was already gone from the ogre. He got to camp before the orge could find him. For the past two years now, Avalon's been steeling himself for battle and- this he assumes- save his father from a terrible fate.

Name: Pauline "Paulie" Matthews

Age (10-18): 16

Parents (Mortal and Godly): Hermes (Greek) and Anita Matthews

Appearance: Paulie has short, fine brown hair that falls perpetually out of order around her slightly tanned, very freckly face. Like all children of Hermes, she has a slightly mischievous look and when she smiles, she shows dimples. She is of average build and medium height, around 5'4". She could be considered pretty. Because of a fear of needles, she has never pierced her ears nor anywhere else.

Personality: Paulie is fairly outgoing. At her numerous schools, apart from being the new kid, she was not especially popular but definitely not a loser, either. She prefers situations where there are a lot of people around. In friendships, Paulie often ends up as the in-between man between two friends in an argument because she tends to be very diplomatic and not as quick to judge as most. Of course, Paulie enjoys making mischief.

Other Personalities (Likes, Dislikes, Strengths, Weaknesses): Paulie especially likes to read and is into art. She doesn't like school and does not receive good grades in class. Her teachers tend to dislike her. Despite her average physique, she is gifted at sports that involve a lot of running. Her pet peeve is celery and she is absolutely terrified of spiders.

Brief History (Remember to include how they got to camp!): Paulie has no siblings, and was told that her father divorced her mother shortly after she was born and moved away. In fact, her father was basically a taboo topic for as long as she could remember. Currently she has not spoken to her mother since her very recent arrival at the camp, although her mother was informed of her being there. Paulie got into trouble in school on a regular basis for petty mischief. Also, at some of her past schools she was verbally and physically abused for being bisexual. She has never actually had a steady partner, because nobody is willing to accept that she might prefer to be with someone of another gender. She doesn't have a great relationship with her mother, who disapproves of her sexual orientation. One day she ran away from home, attempted suicide into a stream, and was rescued by a satyr called Jamison who brings her to the camp. She's feeling pretty emotionally fragile on arrival and in need of a steady person to rely on.

Up for love?: Absolutely, and she is publicly bisexual.

Name: Lynette Millerion (You can call her Lyn, if you'd like.)

Age: 15

Parents: Clove Millerion and Mars

Appearance: Lynette has long, brown-black hair. She has light green eyes, the color of mint leaves. Pretty dark lashes surrond them, dark without mascara. Her skin is fair and clear. She has her ears pierced, and usual has simple earring dangling from her ears. Lyn has a lithe figure, with small muscles. She is slim, but suprisingly realistic, with a curvy waist. She stands at 5'5. Lynette dresses in long-sleeved shirts or short sleeved with lots of sillybands covering her wrists. She likes converse and jeans, but isn't opposed to girlier clothing.

However, there is something off about Lyn's feminine-yet-strong appearance. The cut's on her wrist.

Personality: A generally quiet girl, you wouldn't really expect the brain that's behind her. She'd rather not talk, but observe and soak everything in. When she does talk, there's always a bit of sarcasm and bitterness behind her voice. Sometimes she means it to be there, but sometimes she doesn't. Either way, she's very intelligent. She has a strategic brain. When she speaks, you won't always hear it, but it's there. She only speaks intelligently when she needs to defend herself or if she feel's she'll be listened to. Don't think you'll listen? You won't get much from her.

On the outside she can seem a little bit cold, but she's really just scared of being burnt. She put's on a tough act and tries to be the big kid, but most of the time just hides behind her facade. Sometimes she'll have random outburst of socialness, but will always end it with a flush and a stutter. Deep down, she really is a nice girl, it's just been shoved down. If you get to be her friend you'll discover she's ferociously loyal to anyone who belives in her. You just have to get to her first.

She's also a bit quirky. She doesn't believe in luck, but is a big believer of fate. She follows all the roman traditions, or as many as she knows. She'll never show you her wrists-ever- and will try to hide them in the oddest ways.

History: Life hasn't been very nice to Lynette.

She grew up with a cruel mother, a woman who went out to parties and brought a new man home every night. However, Lynette had a group of good, supportive friends you helped her through her mother's periodic cruelty. Even though her mother's 'man-friends' often abused her, smaking her and calling her names, Lynette stayed strong. Her mother, often an evil villian at night, became Lynette's strongest hero.

One night, however, one man took it in his grace to hit-hit Lynette. He was one of her mother's favorites, so Lynette didn't say anything. Instead, she started cutting herself. She was only nine. When her friends found out, they talked her out of it. They told her mother- who quickly reconoiled with her daughter and tried to stop the partying. Lynette had faith, if only for a short while.

Her mother was a fool.

Six months. That's all she lasted. The partying, drinking, slumming around resummed. So did Lynette's depression. She sank around from her friends and let her life go down the drain in sorrow and smacks.

One day, when Lynette was thirteen, she was cutting herself in the bathroom. She cut the wound a little to deep, and before she could say "Ow" monster's were busting through her bathroom wall. Her mother, running to find out what had happened, was hurt when the monsters barreled through her. The camp had delegates to come get Lynette, but not before she was gravely injured. Her mother was sent to a mortal hospital, and left with deep scars. Lupa then told Lyn about her father- a bit ironic and cruel, given her violent past. Lynette hasn't left camp for two straight years.

Other Personalities:

Likes: Loyal friends, music, silly bands, strategic games, mints, being intelligent, Evanasance, candy...

Dislikes: Make-up, knives, her mother, parties, alchol, mean people, and the scars on her wrists.

Strengths: Endurance. She can run forever without getting tired. She's good with sharp objects (much to her chagrin) Lynette is intelligent on various subjects and clever. She's also decently strong. Good actress and not a bad lier.

Weaknesses: Not very flexiable or good at regular sports or any of that. Easily insulted and embittered. Isn't one for 'forgive and forget.' Never shot a gun before. Can also be a bit of a pessimist. Tends to over think things.

Up for love: Yes, even if she doesn't know it yet!

Name: Jaiden Vanderbilt

Parents (Mortal and Godly): Caleb Vanderbilt and Minerva (Roman) Lise Vanderbilt, step mother.

Appearance: About 5'8, with a lanky body. However, his upper half is stronger than it looks. He has brown hair, with faded sun-streaked blond highlights. He has finely arranged hair. Jaiden has kind, soft gray eyes. He wears close mix between nerdy and casual and clothing. Mixes of jeans and plaid T-shirts.

Personality: Jaiden is a bit of a film nerd. He loves to shoot movies, and watch them too. He doesn't mind loitering behind the scenes- really, he'd rather be behind the camra than in the spotlight. He can go on long rambles where nobody understands a thing he's saying. He's a practical genius on everything technology, but he's good at History and Science too. He's very intelligent, of course, with a brain that takes in almost everything. When he's set his sites on something, nobody can get in his way. When he's focoused on things, it's hard to distract him or get him away from it. He hates it when people misunderestimate him, but often keeps it quiet.

Jaiden is also super nice. He loves to do nice things for people. When he's not foucused on a project, he's pretty laid back- but that can change quickly. He loves to see people smile- and he's good at it. Jaiden has a good source of humor, but whether his jokes make any sense...that's up for debate. He's one of those lucky demigods who isn't dylexic, but his ADHD is way more hyperactive than normal. He can't sit still- ever. He always has to be doing something.

Other Personalities (Likes, Dislikes, Strengths, Weaknesses): Jaiden likes making movies, watching movies, word games, technology, music, school (Although he skimps to admit it), laughing, and making people laugh. On the dislikes side, he hates rainy days and the opera. Sitting still for a very long time bugs him, as does vegetables (which he can be very immature about). He doesn't like negativity or disrespectful people.

He's good at keeping people calm, and talking them out of bad things. He's intelligent- both strategically and factually- but is suprisingly good with a knife. Knows an incredible expanse about technology. Jaiden is not a leader, and freaks out in leadership situations. He has only trained himself with a knife, so he's useless with arrows and swords. He's afraid of water from a childhood experience, so he can't swim worth a darn.

Brief History (Remember to include how they got to camp!): Jaiden was born to Caleb Vanderbilt, a calculus professor at Yale. Athena left the proffesor as soon as Jaiden's name has been chosen. Caleb, raised a gentlemen of high stature, was ashamed of having a baby with no woman to show for it. So he quickly married an old friend of his who had been lusting after him for years, trying to secure his social safety. Her name? Professor Lise of Roman Mythology.

Jaiden grew up with Lise as his mother figure. However, the woman had been told of Jaiden's true heritage and felt guilty for taking the spot of the great Minerva. So she told Jaiden the truth, when he was only six. Caleb Vanderbilt never knew that Jaiden found out. The boy kept the secret up until his father told him at ten. The couple sent him to Camp Demi-God when he was eleven. He goes home whenever he can.

Blonde hair and silver-gray eyes. Short and thin, but athletically-built.
Personality: Lyra can be a little shy to begin around people, particularly guys, but beyond this she is extremely happy-go-lucky and carefree. She's also really intelligent and curious, though more of an inner wisdom than any type of booksmarts.
Other Personalities (Likes, Dislikes, Strengths, Weaknesses):
Likes: close friendships, music, art, nature, animals, astronomy, archery
Dislikes: math, relationships, gossip, "popular" kids

She's pretty athletic and made good mortal friends, but quickly realized the danger she put them and her father in, so half-heartedly joined Camp Demi-God.

Name: Mia Pallares. (PAH-lar-es)

Personality: Mia is a very complex and disorientated sort of girl. She is angry and defensive most of the time. She is very intelligent and often makes rash but wise choices under a short time limit. She has these walls of stone up and around her, which are pratically impossible to penetrate. Mia closes people out and hardly lets them in. She has trust and anger issues, often causing her to snap at someone and scaring them away. She's always alone. Mia likes to read, play the piano, swim, and sing. She hates people in general, sports, prejudice and rude people, and vegetables. She can ride a horse, knock an arrow, dodging, swing a sword, and fight hand-to-hand. She fails at throwing or catching anything, running, and landing on her feet.

Brief History: Mia has always loved to swim. Water was her favourite thing to play with as a child. Grace gave her a bath every night and always took her to th water park. Mia enjoyed swimming in her pool and trainned for the day she entered seventh grade, when she woukd be able to join the swimming and water polo team. At the age of eight, Mia was a skilled expert, outswimming everyone she met. She became her team's captain and won regionals. She was an amazing swimmer.

Now, Mia has a problem, see. Her father happens to be the Greek god Poseidon, who is also the Roman god Neptune. He is the god of the oceans and waters of the world. He's also the king of horses, but that's minor details, blah blah. Anywho, he met Grace and along came Mia. Now, Poseidon normally doesn't choose favourites, but he secretly favours Mia above the rest. She's his naughty secret, his no-no-bad-Poseidon incident. She is exactly like him; therefore, she always has his blessing. Hopefully, you can see her dilema. Mia's demi-god abilities multiply in the water, thus enhancing her scent. So then came the monsters, ugly brutes. Mia's mother has transferred Mia to twelve different schools in three different states, each resulting in the same ending. Girl goes swimming, monster finds girl, girl destroys school. At the age of fourteen, Grace was tired of fighting and sent Mia to Camp Half-Blod, where she believed Mia would be safer. Grace has recently died three months ago due to a car crash.

Personality: Mason is a snarky and cocky sort of guy, one you would typically file under 'asshole'. He is untrustworthy and deceiving, often stealing from someone or fooling them with lies. He loves to crack jokes and and make sarcastic remarks about everything. Right away, you must be warned. This isn't your cookie-cutter rebellious teenager, who is secretly angry at the world and just needs a friend. Yeah- no. Mason does hate the world, but he doesn't give a damn about friends. He peffers solitude. Mason likes fighting, stealing, music, sleeping, the dark, and women, especially raven-haired ones. He hates people in general, normality, the sun, and Jesus-freaks. He can shadow-travel, run very fast, fight with a sword, and he's an excellent hand-to-hand combat. He fails at shooting arrows, throwing or cathing, riding horses - they're scared of him - and thinking logically and rationally. He acts on impulse.

Breif History: Mason was never an easy child. He was a night baby, and always cried. When he started school, he always got into trouble with other kids. They taunted and picked on Mason, who retaliated by giving them nightmares and sending spirits after them. He got into fights and arguments, which resulted in him getting expelled. Aria figured he had abandonment issues and sent him to a councilor, who was secretly his father. Mason told Hades-in-disguise that he saw ghosts and that he hated his father. Hades attempted to help him forget the ghosts by enhancing the Mist, hoping to rid his son's eyes of the dead. No luck, it only seemed to clear Mason's sight even more. Mason roared when he sae the true Hades and screamed words of hate at his father. He stmed outside and ran away from home, sobbing brokenly. Crazily enough, the soul of a departed woman came to comfort him and sooth him, convincing him to go home to his mother. Mason calmed down and gave his blessing, sending the woman to the Underworld, so she could rest. He went home and demanded Aria send him to a place where he would be safe. She sent him to Camp Half-Blood, where he resides.

Personality: She's very quiet and soft spoken, she gets bored often especially if something doesn't challenge her, she's very sweet but shy as well, she can get a bit talkative if you catch her in a good mood, she would rather be reading then socializing, she's a tacticion and a bit of a rebel, and she has a dark and sarcastic sense of humor.

Dislikes: Being around a bunch of people, people taking away her drawings, and being reminded of her past. Strengths: Is a brilliant tactiction, outside the box, is accepting, is a very sweet person you just need to get to know her, is great at fighting, can sometimes make people laugh, and is very calm under pressure. Weaknesses: Has a bit of a temper, and can't be around a lot of people without twitching because of the fact that she was teased so much.
Brief History (Remember to include how they got to camp!): Theres actually not much to tell her father found out/remembered about Athena when Arianna was 6 and dropped her off at the camp then drove off not looking back. Chiron tried to get her into a regular school but they made fun of her for being smart and the fact that she is a bit dark at they would taunt her when she would walk 'home' i.e. the camp. She finally snapped and accidently changed a boy into a chicken when she was 11 and a half she ran away not looking back afterwards. Since then Chiron just provides her with books when he can and lessons.

She is tiny, and at 4'10 and looks almost like a 10 year old. Her eye colour changes according to her weather. If it's sunny, they turn blue. Rainy - green. If it's stormy, they turn silvery grey. She likes dresses or skirts and tops. She hates jeans or shorts.

Personality: She is a sweet and quiet but brave girl and maintains her composure through almost all the situations, but when someone really goes against her, she turns fiery and vengeful. She likes to keep organized and neat. She is terrified of anything underground or in the darkness. She's loyal and polite to her friends, and almost always tend to agree with them, which is a quality she got from her mother, although rarely she tends to act patronizingly.

Likes: She loves to keep everything in order. She likes to stare up at the sky, lying on her back. She loves astronomy and has a special liking to birds. Most of the time, she stays alone.
Dislikes: She doesn't like making other people angry. She also doesn't like it when she's disturbed.

the whole year, except sometimes she visits and stays with her mother over the summer.
