"Colt? COLT!" she screamed and tried to get him to open his eyes. "Colt don't leave me, I need you, I can't imagine what you've been through chasing after me, but I know it was hell chasing after you, don't make me go it alone again. I promise I won't get us into anymore trouble. I promise. I-" she broke off into a sobbing fit, staying out of the way for Slade.
Colt felt someone touching his midsection, probably taking the bullet out. He could hear Caiden, he wanted to tell her it would be ok. Tell her he was going to make it. But he didn't know if that was true. He fought complete darkness, but didn't know if he could do it. He tried to wake up. To open his eyes, but he couldn't.
Colt heard Tristian crying and his heart tugged. He tried forcing his eyes open, they opened a little and he saw CAiden holding Tristian. He couldn't open his eyes anymore. He tried to move, but couldn't find the energy.
Just a little longer, love, I'll be able to move in a little longer. He thought.
Colt felt Caiden lower Tristian into his arms slowly. She wrapped his arm around Tristian supporting him. Tristian gurgled then started whimpering. He slowly and carefully wrapped his fingers around Tristian's small hand trying to comfort him as best he could.
Colt could see Tristian through the slits in his eyes. He tightened and untightened his fingers trying to let Tristian know it was ok. His whole body still ached, but he felt warmer then he had.
Colt listened, "He might be paralyzed a little. It shouldn't be permenate. I'll get Brent over here, he will be able to tell more then I can. But I don't know."
Colt slowly moved his thumb over Tristian's small arm. He wanted to Caiden it would be ok.
