I watched Twili and Lilith glare at Haven, wishing he would go away. I knew their names, but I doubt they knew mine; they didn’t even know I was there. They would glare at him until he went away and, when he didn’t, they would ignore him. I watched my predictions happen and smirked.

I moved my shoulder bag to a more comfortable position and kept walking to the subway station, past the group. When I passed them, my hands automatically went to the marching band color-guard routine. I tried not to look to weird, but being at band camp for a few weeks had gotten me into band mode.

I didn’t notice that I was walking down stairs until I nearly fell. Nearly getting knocked in the head a couple of times by trombones had quickened my reflexes and I reached out to grab the handrail. My face grew hot and I watched my feet. That’s how I accidentaly ran into Gregory. Quite literally.

“God. I’m so sorry.” I was blushing again.

I'm just going to post my profile for the other Mentor. If anyone else joins and wants to claim this, then you can just ignore this profile.

Name: Samuel (Goes by Sam)

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Element: None, he is a Mentor.

Appearance:
-Build: Slim and tall. Not very muscular.
-Hair: Dark brown, almost black. Comes to about his jaw-line, shaggy, and curls slightly.
-Eyes: This color
-Height/Weight: Stands 6' 2" and weighs 140 pounds.
-Skin Tone: Very lightly tanned.

Personality: Sam is generally easy-going and laid-back, seemingly lazy most of the time. He has a cheerful disposition, is charming, and is pacifistic. He has a fiery temper (though it rarely shows) and is prone to shooting off sarcastic remarks when he's angry. If upset, he'll act indifferent about the situation, hiding all his emotions away. If he's happy, he'll act immature and bouncy. He can make almost anyone smile if he tries. He's cunning, wise, and slightly mischievous.

Weapon/Gift: He doesn't have any special powers, but he can use almost every weapon effectively -- ironically, seeing as he's a pacifist. Due to his height and slimness, he is graceful and flexible, allowing him to twist his body in ways most other people couldn't. He wraps his gift around his hand, as seen in the picture.

History: There isn't much to it. He was born, lived a pretty normal life, and became a mentor a few years back. He took to his new life well and has been enjoying it so far.

Additional info: Wears dark colored clothing (dark red/gray/blue and black, with the occasional white) and a black cape and coat. He has an amazing voice, and will occasionally entertain others with a song. He isn't up for love at the moment, but that might change.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.

Gregory-

I was walking down the subway stairs when somebody smashed into my back, making me slam into the railing.

I heard someone say, “God. I’m so sorry.”

"Don't worry about it." I said pushing myself of the railing.
Admiration: Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.

Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

Confidence: the feeling a person has before he fully understands the situation.

Shin: A device for finding furniture in the dark.

Haven

I sighed in relief as the subway came, glad to get away form Lilith and Twili's glares. I jumped up and on, ignoring Lilith's yelp of 'Hey,' as I cut in front of her. When I got on, I walked to the farthest possible seat away from the two, glad that I had gotten away.
My happiness didn't last long, because after about half a minute, I felt someone slide in beside me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Someon wanna sit next to poor Haven? He needs a friend. :( (Or an enemy, whatever the case may be.) :)
Sorry it's short, just needed to get us moving. And sorry if my subway boarding seems very stupid, I have no earthly idea how to actually get on a subway. :( sad, I know.
Kneph-
I was one of the last passengers to board the subway. Glancing around quickly to see if there were any seats left, I took the last remaining one and slid in next to a younger boy with shaggy hair. He didn't seem to happy about it.
I turned my head the other way, pretending to be looking at the other passengers. The boy next to me still said nothing.
Not that I really minded.
I turned to look at the man who had sat next to me. He was tall and dark; he reminded me a bit of an Arabian prince, but I wouldn't say that.
He turned away from me, so I did the same. No need to be nice to someone who wasn't nice to you.
Not that I had planned on being nice to anyone anyway.
Sorry, short.
After I had apologized to Gregory for the millionth time, we had to run to make the train. By that time there was only one seat. Available.
“Go ahead and sit down.” I froze at Gregory’s voice. My hope had been that he wouldn’t talk to me for the rest of my life so I wouldn’t have to recall me nearly killing him on the way to school.
“No, go ahead. I’m trained to stand for long periods of time.” I’m such a band geek.
“You sure?” I nodded and scanned my memories for what I knew about him. He was always kind and he loved to help people. He loves to laugh and make people laugh. An all around good guy.
He didn’t sit down, he had helped an elderly lady onto the seat with a smile. The doors closed and I felt a bit nervous. I wasn’t claustrophobic, it was that the people weren’t familiar. I couldn’t begin to predict what they would do. What they would say.
So I looked for another familiar face. There was Gregory of course, with the elderly lady staring gratefully up at him. I felt relief when I saw Haven sitting next to a boy from the middle east, I guessed. Haven was mouthing the words to a song.
I watched the boy he was sitting next to. His strange, but beautiful, multicolored eyes were staring into something only he could see. Black hair bounced and swayed with the train, looking slightly out of place against his skin.
He suddenly looked at me and I jerked my head away. Being caught observing was humiliating. It made me feel sort of like a stalker. We stopped and it was time for me to get off.
The doors slid open and I had to force myself to slow down so I didn’t look like the weirdo that runs out of a subway train.
Haven
As soon as the train stopped I jumped up. I was watching Erica. She was trying so hard not to look odd as she practically sprinted to get off the train. I took pity on her, I guess, and jogged to catch up with her.
"Morning," I said, my voice naturually taking on an Irish accent.
She looked at me strangely as we walked up the steps, but she muttered "hi," nonetheless.
~~~~~~~~
Short. Phantom, do you want Haven and Erica to be friends? Or acquantences? (sorry, I can't spell.)

Besides fellow band geeks, no one really talks to me. Maybe I send out this vibe or something. But I wasn’t really used to talking to people.

I looked down at my feet, trying to think of what to say. say something, you idiot, I looked up and absently brushed a strand of long, red hair from my eyes.

“What were you singing?” Haven kind of stiffened and looked surprised.

“What?”

“On the subway, you were mouthing the words to some song. What song was it?”

“Shadow of the Day.”

“I love that song, all of the songs on Minutes to Midnight are sweet. Although my fav. has to be Leave out the Rest.” I was surprised at myself for actually saying more than ‘how’s the weather’ kind of thing. I looked back down at my feet, expecting immediate rejection.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I think that they should be acquaintances. (partly because I wanted to see how much I butchered that word before auto correct on Word took over)(but only partly)
Haven
~~~~~~
I smiled a little bit.
"Leave Out All The Rest is cool. One of my favorites. You like Linkin Park? I didn't think girls cared about music."

Well, most girls. I didn't mention the one girl who had loved music as much as I did.

She looked at me, a little startled.

"Yeah! I love music! I'm a band geek, so..." she looked down and blushed.
"What do you play?" I asked.
"Clarinet." she said, smiling at me.
"Cool." I said, suddenly at a loss for words, my Irish accent having faded.
~~~~~~
Risa, (may I call you Risa?) could Haven and Erica fall in love? I think they make a cute couple. But, hey, it's your call. It'd probably be a slow process anyway, since they're both kinda...recluses, you could say? :) Whatever you'd like to do.
Oh, and if nobody caught it, when Haven stopped using his Irish accent, it meant he was getting kinda comfortable talking to Erica. :)
I kept smiling and tried to cock an eyebrow, failing completely.
“What happened to that kick-awesome accent?”
“Well…uh” He grinned sheepishly.
“You’ve got to teach me how to do that. The Irish are sweet. Their entire culture is based on music.” I coughed and fell silent, feeling like a total dork.
~~~~~~~~~

okay, Elsie, here I go

First: sure, call me anything you want. Second: I think Haven and Erica would be a cute couple.

Sorry it took me so long! My mom's been sick, and I've been totally swamped.

Haven
~~~~~
I grinned.
"U2. Irish. They rock." I said, pushing the accent till it was hard-core and nearly fake sounding. I felt like an idiot, but I kept talking because it made her laugh.
"So, how do you know the Irish are sweet?" I said, talking like a leprechaun.
***GAAA!!! Where’d everybody else go? They all went *POOF* ***
***sorry about your mom being sick, I know how hard that is.***
{Erica}
“Something to do with this red hair…and the internet.” I grinned and he grinned back.
“Well, God bless the internet.” He said, once again with a heavy Irish accent. I tried covering my mouth but it was too late; I started laughing. After a second or two, I cleared my throat.
“If you were a smidge shorter, you could pull off being a leprechaun.”
“You calling me short? Speak for yourself.” he scoffed, looking at our height difference. I was a few inches shorter than him.
I sent a glare at him, “Hey, I’m not short: I’m Fun Size!”
(I know, everybody's gone!)
(And thank you. She's going for a stress test soon, and we're waiting for the results of the EKG. We're hoping she's just having problems because she's anemic, but she had heart surgery 3 years ago, and it's possible something's come back up. It's kinda scary. Be praying for us?)
~~~Haven~~~
I doubled over laughing.

"Fun Size? What are you, an M&M?"

She grinned.

"Or maybe on of those lollipops, you know the ones you get at the bank?

Hey, I think that's what I'll call you! Lollipop!"

**I think we can blame the characterless-ness on spring break. I'm having it this week, my family's too lame to go anywhere**
**Of course I’ll pray for you guys! Already have been**

{Erica}

I laughed, shaking my head in defeat.

“Thanks. I’ll treasure that nickname. And you shall be known as Leprechaun!”

“Didn’t we just go through with this?”

“I’m a stubborn Irish-woman slash Dutch-woman.” I grinned, then grimaced as we rounded a corner. “Ugh.”

“What’d I do…oh…” Haven grimaced also. It was (buh, buh, buh) school.
