"The X-Virus is a virus that deletes the data of any digimon it comes in contact with," Jake explained. "Before Yggdrasil deleted most of the old digital world it had given a selected few the X-Antibody so those digimon could survive and prosper in the new world."

"How do you know all this?" Akira asked.

"Sampson filled me in as soon as I got back," he said. "The X-Antibody is a genetic antidote that sleeps within a digimon's DNA. When that digimon comes in contact with the X-Virus the antibody awakens and fends off the virus. We don't know enough about it to know whether the side-effects are good or bad. Only a few digimon in the whole digital world actually have the X-Antibody, Dorumon is the only digimon we know for sure that has it."

"And why do we know for sure?" Rydia asked.

"Once the X-Virus had spread throughout the digital world, Yggdrasil created an army of Dorumon to protect itself when some of the Royal Knights turned on it."

Luna stopped. "Royal Knights? Who are they?"

Jake waved the question away. "I'll tell you about it once our mission is complete."

Akira-

Akira, Jake, Luna, and Rydia stopped talking as they reached the login room. Quietly, lost in thought, the four tamers and their digimon each chose a pad. The technicians started pressing buttons, and the head technician said, "Initializing complete, target confirmed. Prepare to dive in five!"

They went through the now routine procedure of diving as their bodies decrompised until they were made of data and they entered the data stream.

They arrived, finally, in the Eastern Sector of the Digital World. They were at the foot of a mountain range. Akira looked up and looked at Renamon. "Tell me those aren't the Login Mountains we have to climb."

Renamon looked at her, a secret smile on her face. "Yes, they are."

Jake looked at them and looked down at his digivice. "Location confirmed, Haruka. We're at the foot of Login Mountain."

Haruka's voice came through. "We're picking up a weak digimon signal from a higher elevation. We believe it to be Dorumon."

Luna looked up again. "I guess we start climbing."

Rydia

Akira looked up at the mountain and shook her head weakly.

"Why are we here? We should be out looking," she mumured. Rydia squeezed her hand gently from behind and then took a step up onto one of the boulders.

"This mission could be essential to finding them so let's apply ourselves," she suggested, her voice thick with determination. After that, there was little time for talk as the group climbed, carefully picking a precarious path up the rocks.

"There's no path," Luna complained, "and this could be very bad fighting ground."

"We're not to hurt it, remember," Jake reminded her.

"I think we should take a rest," Salamon said to a chorus of nods.

"No," Rydia objected. "We have to keep going. It can't be much further - Haruka?"

"She's right, you should be there soon," Haruka confirmed. "Take it easy, watch out for the digimon.

Luna~

Luna sighed. All she wanted was her sister. All of a sudden four Dobermon's came into veiw, above them. They were all talking in hushed voices. "Dobermons." Luna hissed. Salamon began to growl softly. One of the Dobermons looked up and sniffed the air. It whispered something to the others and they were off, down the mountain.

*Will someone make Salamon evolve into Gatomon during the fight?? Please?*

Jake shouted to his companions. "Prepare for battle!"

One of the Dobermon lunged at Jake. Gabumon stood in front of his tamer to protect him. "Horn Attack!" Gabumon jumped at the digimon, horn-first into its chest. the attack knocked the enemy digimon away, but it didn't turn it into a digiegg. It got back to its feet and growled at Gabumon.

Meanwhile...

"Hey, get your foot out of my face!"

"Stop moving around so much!"

The kids and their new digimon had climbed onto each others' shoulders to try and look out the barred window high up on the wall. Dennis and Hallie kept yelling at each other as they tried to keep steady.

"Ow, that was my nose!" Dennis shouted.

"I said stop moving! Every time you squirm I have to balance myself!" Hallie shouted back.

"Do they always act like this?" Hawkmon asked from under Sarah.

She shook her head. "I wouldn't know." She looked at the top of their human/digimon ladder. "Aiden, do you see anything?"

Aiden was on top because he was the lightest out of all of them. "Sarah, I'm scared."

"Once you tell us what's outside you can come down," Sarah reassured him.

"Okay..." Aiden didn't sound too thrilled about it. "I need to be a little higher," he said. Everyone straightened their bodies a little more so Aiden could reach the window. "Okay, that's high enough."

"What do you see?" Sarah asked.

"My back is killing me!" Dennis moaned.

"Stop complaining," Hallie replied.

"Maybe if you weren't so heavy it wouldn't hurt so much!"

"Say that again!" Hallie said as she dug her foot into his shoulder.

Sarah shouted, "Both of you, stop it!" She turned back to Aiden. "Aiden, what do you see?"

"Umm..." Aiden looked across the huge expansion of wasteland. It was completely barren, save a few dead trees here and there and the mountains in the distance. On the horizon, a little to the left, he could see a forest between a gap in the mountains. He told everyone what he saw.

"Okay, Aiden. You did a good job, you can come down now," Sarah said.

Their plan was to have everyone climb down one-by-one, they same way they had down it in the first place. But as soon as Aiden was down Dennis and Hallie started acting up again.

"Hey, get your butt out of my face! It's way too big!"

"Take that back!" Hallie kicked Dennis in the face. The problem was, Dennis was the base of this little ladder. Once he lost balance, everyone fell.

Akira-

Akira stood in alert fighting stance, Renamon ready in front of her. When one of the Dobermon lunged, Renamon jumped into action. "Diamond Storm!" she attacked the Dobermon.

Akira looked around. Everyone was holding their own against the Dobermon, though none had turned into a digiegg yet. Akira turned back to her own battle and settled in for a long battle.

With the Kids....

Aiden-

Aiden looked at Gomamon, who was frowning at Dennis and Hallie's arguing. "Do humans always fight like this?" Gomamon asked him quietly.

Aiden looked back at Dennis and Hallie. "It depends on the human."

Sarah looked like she was about at her wit's end. "Stop it, you two!" she said loudly. "Do you want to get out or not?"

Dennis sighed noisily. "It's not my fault I get stuck with two girls and one scaredy-cat!"

Aiden's cool demeanor finally broke. "My twin sister was killed by a digimon. I don't plan on being killed too. So either you help us get out or you stay here, but I'm going."

Dennis and Aiden's eyes met for a moment, before Dennis looked down. "Alright, alright," he mumbled.

Hallie was being glared at by Sarah until she looked begrudginly at Dennis. "Sorry," she grumbled.

The fight with the Dobermon dragged on. Every time they knocked back one of them, another one took its place. The digimon formed a protective circle around their tamers, who stood back-to-back against each other. The hound digimon began circling the group like a pack of hungry wolves.

Renamon fell to one knee. "Renamon, what's wrong?" Akira asked.

"The battle has made me weak. If this goes on much longer I don't know how long I'll last."

"This is bad," Akira muttered under her breath. She looked over her shoulder at their unofficial leader. "Jake, we're in trouble."

"I know," he said. "Gabumon, can you digivolve?"

Gabumon looked just as tired as Renamon. "Sorry, Jake. I'm too tired."

Jake raised his voice so everyone could hear him, but never took his eyes off the enemy in front of Gabumon. "First chance we get we need to find a way out of here."

"We haven't found Dorumon, yet," Rydia said. "The mission will be a failure."

"Our lives are more important," he said.

"How are we going to get out of this mess?" Luna asked.

"Don't worry, Luna," Salamon assured her tamer, "I'll protect you."

Luna appreciated the gesture, but she knew Salamon was just as tired as the rest of them, and her size didn't help matters much, either.

Salamon tensed as one of the Dobermon jumped at her. Scared that she may lose her digimon, her best friend, Luna shouted, "Salamon!"

Her digivice let out a bright flash of light that turned into a beam and struck Salamon's body. The sudden burst of light caused the advancing Dobermon to stop in its tracks. The other ones began to edge away.

Salamon's skin jumped from her body in a spray of pixels, revealing the green-lined polygons underneath that shaped her body. The lines reformed into a new shape and the skin formed pixel by pixel. Salamon had digivolved into the cat digimon, Gatomon.

Gatomon looked over her shoulder at Luna and said, "I'll protect you, Luna."

Gatomon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatomon

(Just a reminder, the champion digimon, Gatomon, can stay in her champion form as if it was her rookie stage. That's how they did it in the T.V. series, so why not do it here?)

Meanwhile...

"So it's agreed," Sarah announced, "once we find a way out of this place we'll run across the wasteland until we reach the forest. Remember, we're not stopping until we get to the forest, got it?"

"What if we run into more bad digimon on the way?" Hallie asked.

"It looked pretty barren," Aiden said. "I don't think we'll have to worry about that."

"I still don't like it," Dennis complain.

Sarah frowned. "Unless you have a better idea, we're sticking to my plan." Dennis grunted, but didn't argue the point any further.

"Umm..." Everyone looked at Agumon. "That's great and all, but how are we going to get out in the first place?"

"Try to blow up the barred window with your fire breath," Sarah said.

"He tried that already," Hawkmon stated. "He's not strong enough to break them."

Sarah turned back to Agumon. "Can you try again?"

"I don't know..."

Sarah put on the sweetest, most innocent look she could manage and pleaded, "For me, pleeeeeeeease?"

Agumon seemed to blush, but said, "Okay, for you, Sarah." He turned to face the window. "Pepper Breath!" He shot a ball of fire from his mouth that blew the barred window wide open, throwing bits of metal and stone all over the place. "Wow, I was never able to do something that powerful before!"

"You think it may have something to do with the digivices?" Wormmon asked. "Now that we have tamers, maybe our powers have increased."

Agumon turned to his tamer. "What do you think, Sarah?"

"I don't know," she said. "If anyone would know it'd be Jake."

"Who's Jake?"

"My brother, he works at a place called Data Squad."

"Data Squad!?" All the digimon's eyes widened with hope at the mere mention of the word. "This is great! If we can find your brother, Data Squad can help us turn our friends back to normal!"

Sarah smiled and nodded. "That's right. My brother is the nicest and bravest member of Data Squad, he'll convince everyone to help your friends."

"Shouldn't we be more worried about getting out of here first?" Aiden said. "I think I here someone coming."

He was right, someone was coming. They could here footsteps coming from further down the hall.

Wormmon faced the blasted window. "Silk Thread!" He shot a thick strand of silk thread just above the window. As the worm digimon began to climb he said, "Quick, before they catch us!" Everyone followed Wormmon up the silk thread and out the window. They made it out, now all they had to do was get to the forest before the bad guys caught them.

With our Data Squad Tamers

Akira-

Akira smiled when Salamon digivolved to Gatomon. Maybe this could be the little extra push of strength they needed.

Akira continued to look for an escape route, but the way they were in a circle was making escape impossible. Renamon, Gabumon, and Veemon were tiring quickly. Even Gatomon, for all that she was stronger, was tiring from the constant cycle of attacks.

"Jake, Rydia, Luna, we've got to find a way out, and quick!" Akira called to the others.

Rydia looked back. "Yeah, but how?"

With the kids

Aiden-

Aiden looked back and heard a yell from down in the cell where they had been kept. "Run!" he urged the others. Everyone began to run across the barren wasteland as fast as they could to the promise of the forest.

Hallie, who was beside Aiden, tripped and fell. Aiden lifted her up by the arm, and she kept going, determinedly.

Dennis looked behind them. "They're coming after us!" he shouted to the others.

"Keep running!" Sarah yelled to everyone. "If we make it to the forest, we can hide in the trees.

(I'll just post something for the kids right now.)

Sarah looked back as she ran. She saw a digimon chasing them, but it wasn't one of the ones that kidnapped them. She couldn't tell what it was from this distance, only that it had a white and purple body and a large horn on its forehead.

Sarah almost tripped because she wasn't looking where she was running. When she regained her balance she looked back. The digimon that was chasing them was gone.

Dennis looked back, too. "Hey, it's gone!" He started to slow his pace.

"That doesn't mean it's not still after us!" Sarah shouted. "Keep running!"

The ground started shaking violently. It felt like there was something crawling through the ground underneath them. The shaking got so bad that the kids all fell because they couldn't keep their balance. The ground in front of them tore open and the digimon emerged from the dirt. The thing on its forehead wasn't a horn, it was a drill.

(I'm really sorry for not posting...I've been sick for two days and had a fever and nobody's posted anything except for Dynamo and now I feel bad. I still have the fever, which is the reason for the ramble.)

With the kids

Aiden stopped, Gomamon sliding beside him. "What do we do!" Aiden yelled to Gomamon.

"Split up and confuse him!" Dennis shouted. Dennis and Sarah went to the left, while Hallie and Aiden split to the right.

The digimon looked confused momentarily, but then turned towards Dennis and Sarah. "Something tells me this was a bad idea!" Hallie told Aiden.

(Sorry, my heads still fuzzy. I'll let you have the kids first battle so that weird things don't happen because of my fever.)

(That's okay, I know how it feels to be sick. About a month ago I had a cold, and no more than a week after I got better I caught another one. You have to understand, I got sick a lot when I was an infant so my immune system is stronger than most people's. You can imagine how annoying this double cold was for me.)

The Dobermon continued to circle the group. They looked uneasy now that Salamon had digivolved, but they didn't back down.

One of the Dobermon tensed as it was about to lunge out at the group. Gatomon caught sight of the movement right away. Before the digimon could so much as jump Gatomon pounced. "Lightning Paw!" It scratched the digimon with a lightning-quick swipe of her claws. The digimon howled in pain before shattering into a spray of pixels and turning into a digiegg.

The other three Dobermon saw this and were now focused on Gatomon. They all attacked the cat digimon at once. "Cat's Eye Hypnotism!" Small waves of light came from her eyes. When they hit the enemy digimon they stopped in their tracks. They started looking around, as if confused by their surroundings. One of them turned on another Dobermon and pounced on it, sinking its teeth into its ally's fur.

"They're confuse!" Veemon said. "Now's our chance!" The blue digimon charged the dog digimon, Gabumon and Renamon trailing after. Veemon lunged head-first at one of them. "Vee Headbutt!" He slammed into the Dobermon with His rock-hard skull, defeating the digimon and turning it into a digiegg.

"Diamond Storm!"

"Howling Blaster!"

Renamon and Gabumon combined their attacks to take out the last two Dobermon who were fighting amongst themselves. The digimon cried out in pain under the shards of ice and the cold blue fire. They turned into digieggs.

The battle was won, finally they could rest. Renamon, Veemon and Gabumon collapsed in an exhausted heap. Their tamers came to their sides to try and help them. Oddly enough, Gatomon, the digimon who had done the most work, was not tired at all.

(Remember, because Salamon's champion form, Gatomon, is as small as all the other rookie digimon she can stay in that form as long as she wants, just like in the T.V. show.)

Meanwhile...

Sarah began to panic as the large digimon began to close in. Dennis tried yelling at it, "Hey, stay away from us you big purple fur-ball!" but that didn't do much good. The large digimon growled as it approached, the drill on its forehead spinning rapidly.

Agumon turned to Sarah. "What do we do, Sarah?" he asked.

Sarah didn't know what to do. The only way they could stop a digimon that big was if they had a big digimon, too. That's when she remembered when that black digimon kidnapped her and how Gabumon had digivolved to try and save her.

Sarah grabbed her digivice. It's worth a shot, she thought. She pointed it at Agumon and said, "Agumon, digivolve!" Nothing happened.

The digimon was getting closer. Wormmon ran up to it in an attempt to stop it. "Sticky Net!" It shot silk web at the digimon, hoping to slow it down. The drill on the enemy's head tore it away as it spun. It back-handed Wormmon, tossing the small digimon out of the way.

Sarah tried again. "Agumon, digivolve!"

"I don't think that's going to work!" Dennis said.

Sarah ignored him, it had to work! "Digivolve! Digivolve! Digivolve!" She kept saying it over and over again, in hopes that something might happen.

Hawkmon and Gomamon tried to help stop the enemy, but it knocked them away just like it had Wormmon. Agumon tried to stop it next. "Pepper Breath!" It shot a ball of fire at the enemy's head, it made an impact but not enough to stop it. The digimon looked angry, it let out a roar and grabbed Agumon. The small dragon digimon whimpered under the enemy's grip.

This was not good, Agumon was in trouble. Sarah had promised they would protect each other, she couldn't let this happen. "Agumon!"

Her digivice flashed with a bright light that turned into a beam and hit Agumon. The small dragon digimon burst in a spray of pixels, revealing its skeletal design form (the green lines under the skin). Something knocked the enemy back, causing it to let go of Agumon.

Agumon's shape grew until it was at least twice the size of the digimon they were facing. Pixels began to reform on its body, revealing its newly formed body. He let out a fearful roar as he glared at the enemy digimon.

Greymon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agumon#Greymon (Just in case the picture doesn't work for you guys like it did for me, Greymon is a dinosaur digimon with short arms, big legs, blue stripes and a brown bone-like helmet with three horns protecting the upper half of his head, two horns coming out the side of his head and one horn on top of his nose.)

(Ooh, a double cold. That must have been awful. I hate colds.)

With the tamers

Akira was standing over Renamon, her eyes bright with worry. Renamon looked up, her eyes weary. "I'm okay," she told her. "Stop worrying."

"You are not okay," Akira informed her. "You're exhausted. As are Gabumon and Veemon."

Rydia, who was standing over Veemon, looked up. "We might have a problem. How are we supposed to make it up a mountain to find the Dorumon if our digimon, not to mention us, are too exhausted to climb anywhere?"

Luna nodded. "It'll be hard. There's no way we can do it now. Maybe after some rest..."

Akira noticed that Jake hadn't said anything. "What do you think, Jake?"

(I'll let you do Sarah's fight scene. You're much better at those than me :) .)

Jake turned to Luna and asked, "How do you feel?"

"I'm okay," she said.

"Are you well enough to head up the mountain with Sala-" he corrected himself, "Gatomon?"

Luna looked at her digimon. "Are you weary from the battle?"

The cat digimon looked up at her tamer. "I was tired when I was still Salamon, but digivolving must have recharged my strength. I feel great!"

Luna looked back to her leader. "I think we can manage it."

Jake nodded. "I need you two to do a little reconnaissance. Go up the mountain and see if you can find any sign of our target. If you run into anymore enemies, do not engage them in battle. Stay out of sight and see what you can find until we catch up."

Luna nodded. "Got it." She began climbing up the side of the mountain. Gatomon followed her, hoping effortlessly from one ledge to another.

Meanwhile...

Both Sarah and Dennis were awe-struck by Agumon's transformation. They couldn't see Hallie or Aiden on the other side of the digimon but they were probably wearing the same expressions.

"Uh... He's still on our side, right?" Dennis asked.

"I think so," Sarah answered.

Wormmon regained his composure and came back to Dennis' side. "Agumon digivolved into Greymon!" he said. "I didn't know he was able to digivolve."

Sarah looked at the digivice in her hand. "I guess it worked."

The enemy let out a roar to match Greymon's and lurched forward. Its drill spun rapidly as it came. Greymon grabbed the digimon by the side of the head, stopping the drill just inches away from his neck. He tried to hold it back, but the enemy kept getting closer and closer, bringing the drill another inch closer to his neck each time.

Sarah shouted, "Don't give up! You can beat it, Greymon!"

Greymon let out a loud grunt as he lifted the enemy into the air, throwing it to the side. Before it could get back up Greymon opened his mouth. "Nova Blast!" A gigantic ball of fire emerged from his mouth. It made a large explosion when it hit the digimon. The enemy exploded in a spray of pixels and turned into an egg.
