A mighty warrior assembled behind him a massive, skilled army. He led his army across the countryside, devouring small villages, crushing rebellion- until none remained but he and his followers. He declared himself King and few were living to dispute his claim. He wasn’t faithful, and soon found himself with many infant sons.

Advised to name an heir, but uncertain which of his sons would be most suited to the crown, he split his kingdom into eight parts, and named each son heir to a throne, with intentions to amend his decision once his boys’ personalities were fully formed- to restore his kingdom to a single fortress. He died before that day came, and his kingdom was broken.

Four short decades later only three kingdoms remained- the others conquered, crushed, forgotten: Neko, Atra, and Genor. Genor had withdrawn all contacts from the neighbouring nations, and shut itself deep within the protection of its mountainous ranges. Neko and Atra, both aggressive nations, reached an agreement- that the Prince of Neko and the Princess of Atra would wed, and that the nations would become allies.

The Princess of Atra had no desire to marry her cousin, nor did the Prince want to marry her- and fresh, civil battles were waged. Messengers carried forged letters. Spies reported false information. Atra and Neko’s leaders were killed in the battles. The newly assumed thrones, their pride injured by the other’s refusal of marriage, declared war on each other.

Who will you side with? The Queen of Fire? The King of Shadows? The Lord of the Mountains? When nothing is certain but fear and death, and no one is what they seem...

Atra- Kingdom of Fire

Spoiler
Roles in society:

Women-
Women are to birth and raise warriors. A prized woman will be silent and observant, respected by her children (though not often her husband), and possess ample strength to run her household and give her sons basic training. Women are to be seen and not heard. If a woman ventures to speak out against a man- or against a man’s abilities- she had better be able to defend herself and be prepared for a Test, because other men won’t come to her rescue.

A woman who can defeat a man in battle, or simply requests one, will be given a Test, and, if she passes, she will be placed in the Fire Queen’s ranks- to be treated, in all respects, as a man of equal rank. A woman, once she has proven herself, is given an equal opportunity for advancement, though is not given a handicap because she’s a woman- if she can’t earn something, she can’t have it.
Girls-
Girls are given only the most basic training in arms, typically in whatever Craft their mother learned—they only learn enough to be able to train the sons that they are expected to bear one day. The age of their training varies, depending on the capabilities of the girl, but is typically completed by the time they’re nine. Girls learn their basic figures, reading, and writing- and then begin mastering the things women commonly do, cooking, cleaning, caring for children, etc.

Men-
Men are prideful and possessive, often brawling if they feel they’ve been done wrong, or that their woman has been slighted (outside the mild condescension to be expected). From an early age (commonly four winters) they cease to be babied by their mothers, who eventually become their first tutors. From age 4 to 7 they are Stage One, from 8 to 10 is Stage Two, when they are 11 and 12 they are Starters, and ages 13 and 14 are Apprentices.

Stage One-
The boy will begin to learn independence. He will master dressing and bathing himself, as well as begin to keep his Father’s or older brother(s)’ weapons cleaned. He will begin to learn a Craft- typically the one his mother learned. He will learn to read, write, and perform basic math computations. He will begin to learn horsemanship.

Stage Two-
He will know how to fully groom himself, and how to maintain weapons. He will be proficient in the Craft his mother decided to teach him, and will begin learning the other Crafts- usually from an older brother or older friend, but sometimes his mother. His reading will be fluent, his writing legible, and an older man will teach him more advanced mathematics.

His father will observe him as he trains, and will discourage any weakness he displays. His father continue to teach him horsemanship.

Starter-
His education will be fully taken over by his Father, who will now be familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of his son. His time with his mother will be significantly restricted, and all sympathies lost. He will practice his Craft- his shortcomings punished more severely- and practice the Crafts that he’s unskilled in, though the majority of his time will be spent honing his skills in his Craft, and the Craft of his father.

Apprentice-
The boy will take up residence with a Master of the Craft he wishes to pursue. His Master will hone his skills in the Craft, and teach him things beyond the common knowledge (see the list of Crafts). In return, the boy will care for h is Master’s arms, cook meals, keep his Master’s house and stable, and accompany his Master wherever he goes.

Test-
When a boy is 15 years old, or whenever his Master deems him ready, he will be tested in the Craft of his choice. The Test is intense- taxing mentally, as well as physically- and different, depending on the Craft. All Crafts require the Apprentice to survive for a fortnight in the wilderness, with nothing but their weapon, a knife, a flint, and some steel.

Neko- Kingdom of Shadows
Spoiler
Roles in society:
Women-
Women have two options- become a Yulaki or a Citizen. Yulaki are women the mild type, treated gently- in word and deed- behaving as perfect ladies. They are ever available to keep a man company, and only speak when they’re spoken to- excluding talking to other Yulaki. Often if a man finds a Yulaki who he is particularly fond of, he will take her into his dwelling, providing her with food and shelter, in return for her services.

Women who decide to become Citizens are decidedly more opinionated and express their opinions more freely. Women who pass the Citizenship Test are treated as a man, being allowed to freely converse with them, and, if she feels she’s been slighted, she can brawl with men without bringing any disgrace on her or her household.

Men-
Men are raised to be warriors. Every man is a Citizen, and therefore a soldier in the King’s army, which is his first profession. Men often prefer swords to any other weapon, leaving archery for women- not out of disrespect, but because women tend to have better aim, and seem to prefer long-distance fighting over hand-to-hand combat, though all weapons are welded by both genders.
Men tend to be arrogant and prideful, but usually keep their opinions private, unless they have a score they wish to settle. Few men speak empty threats- and fewer still live long enough to speak them twice. Any insult is taken on a highly personal level, and typically settled before the night is through.

Children-
Children are raised from birth to be warriors. From the time they can walk, boys begin to spar with their fathers, who aren’t gentle in their lessons- backhanding, punching, and slapping boys, sometimes no taller than your belt, when they err in their form. Girls receive somewhat gentler lessons until they’re five years old, when they choose whether they’re going to become a Citizen or a Yulaki.
A girl can change her decision to be a Citizen until she takes her Citizenship Test, a Yulaki may apply for Citizenship at any time, though it’s far harder for a girl who didn’t receive the training as a child. Children training to become Citizens receive a crude education, reading, writing, their primary figures- and intense training with swords. Every Citizen must be somewhat capable with a spear and a bow, but only those who choose those as a primary weapon receive extensive training.

Yulaki, having more time for leisure, learn to read more fluently, and more advanced mathematics. Yulaki study poems and practice their elocution, learn to sew and embroider, and learn to play an instrument- usually a harp, lyre, or piano. Yulaki that are talented masseuses tend to be the most popular, as do Yulaki who are skilled in the kitchen.

Citizenship Test-
Every winter, a faction of young Nekoites, typically in their twelfth year, apply for Citizenship through an Audition, in which they must prove themselves stronger than their peers. They are taken to the bottom of a steep mountain, and put in one end of an arena- in the other end, there are several Nekoite Citizens.

The Citizens are armed with clubs, as are the initiates. The initiates must fight their way out of the arena, and up the mountain- battling against each other, for the honour and ranks that come with being in the first ten to arrive back at the town, and against the conditions.

Genor- Kingdom in the Mountains

Spoiler
Little is known about the people of Genor. They typically keep to themselves- allowing few people to enter their country, and fewer still to leave it. They’re considered Rebels, resentful of both the ruler of Neko and the ruler of Atra, but neutral in the war- rumoured to be waiting for the two to exhaust their resources, and thus be easier to defeat once the other throne falls.

Crafts

Spoiler
Archery-
Soldiers who choose a different Craft recieve minimal training, making them accurate at only a very short distance. Soldiers and Citizens who chose this as thier Craft, however, recieve detailed instruction. They will learn to shoot different types of bows, different types of arrows, learn how to make their own weapons, learn to make arrows and re-fletch them, and learn tricks to make them lethal at a further distance-- such as a countering cross-winds and tweaking arrows.

Magic-
Magic comes in many different forms. Wizards have the furthest range- at least they rumor themselves to. They have tendancies of making interesting things happen when they come around, and are generally a better thing to have as an ally than an enemy. Enchanters can charm nearly anyone into spilling thier secrets or helping them out of a pinch.
Magicians come in many different facets- from magicians who can control the Elements- Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, to magicians who can only control smaller things, such as items or situations around them.

Swordsmanship
The Craft favored by Nekoite Citizens, and an art practiced by all, swordsmanship requires a good deal of strength and discipline, speed, and finesse. You have to be observant, as to see the weaknesses in your opponent's guard, and quick enough to use the opening.

Staffsman
Few people use staffs, finding them harder to wield and even harder to maim someone. It takes a great deal of strenght and endurance for this Craft.

Spearman
A more popular choice than a staff, few people use spears either. They're useless in hand-to-hand combat, and, being projectile, are usually only good for one enemy at a time.

Hand-To-Hand
A somewhat popular choice, people who pursue thier crafts in Hand-To-Hand combat will be trained extensively with thier hands, and a few other select weapons, depending on the Master that teaches them. Someone who choses this as his Craft will learn the pressure points and lethal areas of a human body, and no longer be under the socially accepted rule that a Challenge must be answered. Few people are willing to fight with someone of this Craft, and for good reason.

Other
If your character wants a different Craft, let me know, and I'll add it. :)

Name: Korhel Malbrar, meaning Dark Tears and War Crafter
Nickname: Your Highness
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Class: Royal
Race: Elf
Rank: King
Skills: Intelligence, magic, and endurance
Weakness: Strength, accuracy, and speed
Allegiance: Nekoites, the Atraites can drown in shadows
Appearance: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&secti ... y#/d2nnedi
Personality: Korhel is the kind of man that's hard to get along with, he's sophisticated, he's arrogant, and he is merciless. He's arrogant for good reason though, he's clever and tends to be right most of the time. Regularly, he tours the city to see if any laws need to be edited or changed, to be sure things are running smoothly. He always has his guard with him though because he is entirely aware of how disagreeable he is. Though to his own people he is kind and he is giving, to those who err he is relentless.
History: Korhel was born royal, he grew up royal, and he has been smart enough to remain royal. His childhood was none more pampered than the other boys. It was not his father who trained and raised him though, but a hired tutor. What king can take the time to raise a child? His mother was a Yulaki (the prior king was known for scandal) and so he was given the oppurtunity to take interest in whichever Craft he desired. Despite his name he chose to obtain mastery in the Craft of Magic, especially Destruction Magic.
Friends were scarce, and shockingly enough due to his naturally cocky and pretentious personality animals loved him. Korhel had a way with them, to get them to do what he wanted them to do. He has a particular fondness for the Felinnulei, which is a creature that has the slender delicate body and legs of a fawn, but the sleek head, paws, and tail of a cat. Never has he known himself to be attached to another being than his pet, affectionately named Vespera. He has never met a humanoid that he truly loved. When his father died he couldn't find grief in his heart and had to summon fake tears. When his tutor died, Korhel didn't attend the burial. He simply didn't care, and so believes he can't. Even to this day, he thinks himself only a King of Darkness. No more, no less.
Up for love: He isn't seeking it, and by the royal oath he's terrible at it, but yes. As for orientation...doesnt bother him.

Name: Balik Kache

Nickname: (though he hates it) Your Majesty

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Class: Rogue

Race: Human

Rank: King

Skills: Intelligence, camouflage, stealth

Weakness: Magic

Allegiance: Genorian

Appearance: Balik is of middling height and weight. His hair is dark brown and shaggy. He ties it back when he's not trying to be stylish which is most of the time. His eyes are a light green that can appear grey. He has absolutely no defining features. His clothing is muted, unless he's actually doing kingly duties, then his wardrobe is garish and obnoxiously vibrant. He has absolutely no defining features which is what makes him so adept at blending in. He's perfectly, wonderfully average.

Personality: If Balik's appearance is average, his personality is opposite. He's awkward in all duties that his position requires of him. He's often silent and sullen or brash and has no talent in diplomacy. He leaves most of his duties to his underlings but has to give the okay before any legislature. He is a very analytic thinker and does a fairly good job of weeding out the bad laws from the good.

He's happiest either in his lab, inventing new things that can give him an edge on magic users, or out in his kingdom, his true identity hidden.

He's fairly laid back, hates the formality of royalty, and treats his staff as friends rather than employees. He doesn't like to be the center of attention- another reason he doesn't enjoy his position- and is a fantastic observer with a fairly good memory. If he's caught in the spotlight when he's not expecting it, he's prone to stuttering.

On the job or not, he comes off as naive, but he's very aware of his surroundings and reality. He just prefers books and science to life.

Whatever his feelings on his position, Balik does believe he needs to do what's best for his people. At the moment, that's staying out of the war, but he is perfectly aware of what's going on in his cousin's kingdoms, having sneaked over the border himself a few times, and has no fondness for any of his cousins. He is happy to let them wear themselves out fighting each other before he attempts to solve his kingdom's problem of deficiency of any resources other than rock.

If there is ever a problem, he often ignores it until the last possible moment. Any personal conflict with anyone, especially though he's close to, he avoids. If one bests him in intelligence, Balik's becomes confrontational and defensive.

History: Balik was the youngest of three princes. He was not supposed to be king and was not prepared by anyone to take the throne, mainly because he had no affinity for magic which was required for a Genorian king. In fact, he was left to his own devices throughout his childhood and the beginning of his adulthood. His brothers were jealous of each other, both groomed for kingship to see which would be more fit. When their father died before he could decide (sounds familiar, right?), they both began a war filled with assassination attempts. In the end, they killed each other, leaving a rambunctious, wild Balik to take the throne.

Genor has been isolated since the brother took his kingdom. That has both helped and hurt them. It has kept them from being destroyed by the heavily armed kingdoms, but Genor doesn't have enough food or other essential resources. Balik has followed Genor's trait isolationism, but he may be forced to begin some trade in the near future if he wants his people to survive.

Up for love: Sure; straight

Other: (Anything forgotten.)

Name: Elriadelnaros K'afstet

Nickname: Nora

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Class: Archer.

Race: Human, though her grandmother was an elf so she retains the look of an elf.

Rank: Advisor.

Skills: Intelligence, accuracy, and stealth.

Weakness: Magic, strength, and endurance.

Allegiance: Nekoites.

Appearance: Nora has long curly brown hair with streaks of a honey colour in it. Her skin is a chocolate coloured and her eyes are the same colour. She has a long thin nose and high, very defined cheekbones. She has elfish qualities to her skin and body. She looks luminous and she is tall and thin. She wears brown and olive coloured hunting clothes at all times. She has nails that are bit to a stub.
Personality: She never lies. She on fact makes a point of it because she does not like feeling as if she blatantly decieved someone. Unless it can hurt the kingdom. She is a very good advisor, and when it comes to helping the kingdom she is straightforward. She is incredibly polite to everyone, and she tries to be diplomatic about everything. She doesn't like to bore people with small talk, and she is prone to correcting people when they are wrong. Nora is very good at public speaking and is very persuasive.

History: Nora was born to a very powerful father and a Yulaki mother. Nora's father was a retired general of Neko. Nora was born into the Yulaki, her mother grooming her at every opportunity to become the most desired lady in Neko. Her father, however, seemed to have different plans for her. Every weekend, when her mother went to social outings and left her daughter alone with her husband Nora's father would take her out hunting, teaching her to use the bow and arrow. He taught her other weapons too, but Nora had a talent for archery. When Nora was fifteen her father caught pnuemonia and died. Obediently following her mother's wishes she became a Yulaki by seventeen.
At nineteen she was courted by a very nice gentleman. Nora has all intentions of getting married to him, but at her engagement party she opted out. Her mother, however loving, was furious with Nora.
All through the process of Nora becoming a citizen her mother did not speak to her. After Nora passed her test she began speaking to her mother again. At this point she was twenty. As soon as Nora could she enlisted in the Neko military, acting as a sort of bow and arrow sniper for the army. In about a year and a half Nora was severly wounded. She took an arrow to the chest. She made a full recovery, but by the time she could fight again she had been replaced.
When she returned back from the army she met the King, who was in need of an advisor. He met her and found her didn't mind her as much as his previous advisor. The King hired her as his advisor.

Up for love: Yes, straight.

Other: She has an enchanted elven bow given to her by her grandmother. It is made of a single elephant tusk. When shot all manner of wildlife and elements will help take down her enemy. It only works when outside of a city however, and it can be very dangerous if you miss your target. Nora keeps a smaller, lighter bow made of silver seqouia with her at all times, and that is the bow she generally uses. Along with her bows she always has a steel shortsword with her.

Name: Zea Aurifex

Nickname: None

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Class: Warrior

Race: Human

Rank: Captain

Skills: Speed, intelligence, accuracy

Weakness: Magic

Allegiance: Nekoites

Appearance: Zea is a little shorter than average, and she has a wiry build. She has a slender waist and hip, but thicker arms and shoulders, from her archery and sword work. Her skin is rather pale, and she has a few large scars, although they're usually hidden from sight. Her eyes are electric teal, and her hair is dark brown and extremely curly--she usually keeps it in a ponytail, for convenience. Her face is stately and angular, and her hands are calloused. She wears a black tunic, loose black pants, leather boots, a thick belt, arm guards, and occasionally a leather vest.

Personality: Zea is reckless, impulsive, and a little cocky. She's smart, and she doesn't make stupid mistakes, but she's quite competitive, and she finds it very difficult to back down from a challenge. She's assertive and sometimes argumentative, and she enjoys proving others wrong. She's comfortable in a leadership position, but she won't often tell others her plans; she prefers to make things up as she goes, and she'll often make snap decisions without consulting anyone else. She takes great pride in her archery, and she knows a lot about the physics of a fight--not the math, but how people and weapons react to each other. She's professional around strangers, but can be rather wild around her friends, especially when music and dancing are involved.

History: Zea's father, Arius Aurifex, was the captain of a unit of swordsmen, and her mother, Aeda, an archer. Although she had stopped honing her skills in favor of raising her children, Aeda taught Zea to shoot at a young age, and inspired her to become a Citizen, and to choose archery as her craft. Arius also taught Zea how to handle a sword, and before long, she was beating her siblings in sparring matches. Zea passed her citizenship test on her first try, and began training as an archer.

As part of her training, Zea made her own shortbow and longbow, and continues to make her own arrows. She showed a remarkable aptitude for predicting the effects of gravity and crosswinds, and advanced quickly, having already learned proper form from her mother. She soon proved to be an invaluable archer, accurate from three hundred yards with a longbow, and her talent earned her a spot at the head of a unit of female archers. She's been in several skirmishes and a few larger battles, and has had a few brushes with death when her improvised plans went awry (hence the scars).

Up for love: Yes, straight.

Other: Zea carries a broadsword in addition to her bows, but has rarely had to use it. She's a skilled carver, and she'll often repair the bows of her archers if they have other things they need to do. She enjoys telling stories, and will spin quite a tale of the time she was stabbed in battle.

Personality: Raven has a very tragic history which has caused her to be very distant towards others. She doesn’t trust very many people and is very secretive when it comes to her past. She likes everyone to think she is tough and fearless. Very few know her true self, she is very kind to the people closest to her and would do anything to protect them.

History: Raven grew up as an orphan and never met her parents. She learnt how to live on her own and decided to become a citizen to protect those she loved. She was treated as an outcast because of her parents. They were considered traitors and cowards. They claimed to support the nekos, but secretly supported and helped the Atras.

This caused the other Nekos to bully her and call her names. She was always on her own until one day a boy started to talk to her. He told her to ignore all the name calling and that her parents’ actions were not her fault. Raven grew very close to this boy until one day he was killed by the Atras in the war. After finding out about his death she vowed revenge on Atra and became a citizen.

Name: Eira Mawon

Nickname:

Age: 33

Gender: Female

Class: Warrior

Race: Shape-shifter *wolf* (Basically a Lycan)

Rank: War Chief

Skills: Strength, endurance, intelligence

Weakness: Stealth

Allegiance: Atraians

Appearance: Eira is lanky and tall. Her arms are toned. Her facial features are sharp, and her eyes yellow. Her hair is fiery red and is in a constant braid. She's tanned, and her hands are heavily calloused. She has a nasty scar that runs from her ear to the corner of her lip on the left side on her face. She wears long sleeved tunics and trousers both of which are black. She's normally seen with red gloves on. She carries a staff of black wood with brass twisting, creating a point on the bottom and a orb on the top. The orb has an emerald in it.
Her wolf form has grey fur with a red stripe down the back. Her paws are also red. A black stripe marks the scar on her face.

Personality: Eira would much rather end things fast. She doesn't care if that's through violence or through diplomacy as long as it doesn't take too much of her time. Of course, with Eira, violence is almost always faster. She's horribly impatient if she does have to wait. She has many opinions and will give them freely as loudly as she must to be heard. She won't dance around the bush if you ask for her advice, she will be frank and honest even if it hurts your feelings. She tough and strong and does well alone, but she likes people as well though she doesn't have to participate in an activity to enjoy watching others do it. She's slow to make deep, meaningful friendships, but once she does it's forever. She's extremely loyal, and if someone messes with one of her friends, they mess with her. She tough and can be mean and cruel. At the same time, she has a streak of tenderness. How she reacts depends on the person. She has a deep fear and hatred of men which makes her cruel to them unless they can make her trust them. If she does have a weakness or injury, she either hides it or denies it until it is obvious.

History: Eira's mother died when Eira was born, and Eira's father taught her what he knew, the art of the staff. When she was nine, he followed tradition and stopped training her, hiring a tutor to teach her other responsibilities. However, because he had no son to pass his legacy on to, he returned to teaching Eira. However, he demanded that she marry instead of taking the Test as she wished to do from the very beginning.

Eira was not very good at married life. The man she married was cruel. Most of her scars were given to her that way. One day when she had been embarrassed in public again, she snapped and immediately challenged her husband to a battle. By the time she had realized what she had done, it was too late. She took up the staff her father had left her when he had passed, and having practiced her battle skills when no one was watching, she quickly beat her husband, crippling him. Afterwards, she took the test, passing with flying colors and hasn't looked back though she left three children behind. She has had no contact with her husband or her children since. She climbed up the ladder quickly, amazing teachers and bosses alike with her prowess until she found herself as warchief where she is content to stay.

Up for love: Yes; straight

Other: She plays a lyre fairly well and enjoys music, but that's a guarded secret.

Nickname: The Eyes of the Wind

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Class: Ranger

Race: Human

Rank: Captain

Skills: speed, endurance, stealth.

Weakness: magic

Craft: Hand-to-hand and swordsmanship.

Allegiance: Atraians (But not from birth. See History)

Appearance: 6' 195 lbs, normal build with brown eyes and dark-black, straight, shoulder length hair. Wears standard travelers garments and hooded cloak, even when indoors or in the presence of royalty. He is left handed, but completes all daily tasks with his right hand only in order to become proficient with both. He uses both hands for combat only. He wears any armor/protection or weapons underneath his clothing in order to not draw attention to himself.

Personality: Loner, distant, pacifist. Although Ankinseth is a master of close range range combat, he always seeks a non-violent solution to conflict, no matter how tedious or long negotiations may take. If battle is unavoidable he fights with only his hands/martial arts and attempts to disarm and subdue his enemies. If he is unable take the enemy's weapon he will draw his sword to defend himself, but he will only render his opponent unconscious and leave their fate in the hands of others on the battlefield.
A spy who refuses to kill or get his hands dirty, his morals often get in the way of the tasks and responsibilities given to him. His style of battle often clashes with power hungry or war mongering advisers to the queen.
He prefers to spend his free-time to himself, often wondering how his future will change and what his role in the Kingdom should be. Travels light and does not draw attention to himself.

History: Ankinseth was born in the now conquered kingdom of Rokiisel as the only son of a political marriage between nobles of Atra and Rokiisel. The last of the other five kingdoms, Rokiisel was destroyed, and Ankinseth's parents killed by forces from Neko when he was only five years old. He lived on as a displaced child to the age of eight, when he was adopted by a group of traveling monks who taught him martial arts and the ability to use his environment for defense in any situation.

At the age of twelve he left the care of his masters due to conflict with his peers, who ridiculed him for not being a true apprentice and lacking discipline. He returned to his homeland to find it a territory divided between both Atra and Neko, serving as a buffer zone for any future war. People he once knew had sided with either kingdom and become the servants of those occupying their land. He then applied for the Test, but was denied because he was too young and identified himself as loyal to Rokiisel.

Ankinseth decided to live alone in the wilderness anyway. He did so for ten years, traveling all across the world, learning the land and mastering the art of stealth and survival. His skills were eventually noticed by a soldier of Atra, who witnessed him disarm and subdue six Neko soldiers who tried to arrest him for theft.

Ankinseth moved up the ranks of Atra's spies quickly, and became master in only two years after the previous master retired. The Test was not considered necessary for him as he lived in the wilderness for so long. Promoted on pure ability and knowledge of enemy territory, his unpersonalized nature often angers nobles and those close to the queen. Many question his loyalty as he is not a true citizen, but their complaints are quieted by his incredible efficiency for gathering information (Which also earned him his nickname).
Ankinseth often questions his motivations, wondering if revenge against Neko for what happened to his parents is the only reason he sided with Atra. He respects the queen and never questions her commands, but often clashes with those who advise her.

Up for love: Yes, straight. Though his personality/past could make it quite difficult.

Other: I think that's it. :)

Name: Anaki Shadowflame

Nickname: Naki, though you might get punched in the face if she doesn’t consider you worthy to call her such.

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Class: Enchanter

Race: Elf-human

Rank: Queen

Skills: Speed, strength, camouflage

Weakness: Magic

Allegiance: Atraians

Appearance: Anaki is lean but muscular, standing about 5’9” tall. She doesn’t consider herself exceptionally large, though she tends to tower over other girls, and can wear the ‘average’ size clothing made for men without disappearing within folds of fabric. She’s got medium blond hair streaked with natural highlights and lowlights that falls to the bottom of her shoulder blades, though she usually keeps it tied back in a tight ponytail- if she’s not presiding as queen. Her features are sharp and attractive, though hidden quickly enough when she so chooses.

Personality: Anaki is quiet most of the time, generally keeping to herself—often in solitude, in the woods or in her study; nobody knows doing what, however. Being the only daughter raised in a castle full of boys, she’s learned to be swift in judgement and execution of what she deems necessary- whether that be fighting or fleeing, whatever the case requires.

History: Anaki was the youngest of seven children, all boys, except her. She was a slight child, prone to illness, and the chew-toy for her older brothers who delighted in nothing more than tormenting her. Her childhood was spent learning to sew, and read, and write, and do figures, as every little girl’s was, but also in mastering her emotions- giving her complete control by the time she was a teenager.

As she neared her teenage years her body began to mend, making her grow rapidly-eight inches in one year- and her strong will pushed her to work for hours every day to gain the strength she should’ve as a child- quickly placing her above the girls her age, and even some of the boys.
As her body quickly matured, catching up with her mind, which was developed far beyond her years, she drew the attention of her father and uncles. It started gradual—her father no longer finding her bound in closets, her shoes remaining in matched pairs, her being on time for dinner because she wasn’t stuck trying to clean ink from her hair or dress- but quickly changed into her brothers arriving late to dinner in a mis-matched wardrobe.

Her uncle, king of Neko, came for a visit- more of a peace negotiation, really- saw her beauty, and quickly pushed her into the negotiations, demanding that she be married to his son. Her father quickly consented, and Anaki was taken to Neko to meet her cousin. Anaki found herself rather fond of Korhel, but resenting the position it put her in- a mere lowly pawn in a game of bureaucracy her father and uncles were playing- she vehemently opposed the marriage, as did Korhel.

Civil wars in both kingdoms- caused by a split of sympathies, between the Crowns and the kids- put the negotiations on hold. Both Kings were killed in the conflicts, as were three of Anaki’s brothers (them fighting on her behalf). At the funeral, a priest was given the king’s will, to read who the king had named heir- and everyone, including Anaki, was shocked that the king had given the throne to Anaki.

Annoyed with Korhel for blatantly refusing her- even though she had done the same- she didn’t try to negotiate when he declared war on Atra.

Up for love: Yes, straight.

Other: The loyalties of her people were hard earned, and she was in many brawls- suffering many injuries- before she was accepted in the world of men.
