I wrote this to prove to my boyfiend that he doent knowwhat love is.
"Chris?"
"Yeah Alice?"
"Why do we love?"
"What?"
"You herd me, why do people love?"
He scratched his head in confusion. He had no earthly idea why people love, but he couldn't tell her that She looked at him with those puppy-dog eyes that made him quiver. He didn't have a answer for her question. What was he suppose to do now? He opened his mouth to speak but her hand stopped him.
"I know why."
"Then why did you ask?"
"Because i wanted to see if you knew!"
"OK then smarty why do we love?"
Alice cleared her throat and began to speak, "we love to feel at peace with our selves, without love we would be just plan lonely and just ourselves, but with someone else we can do anything we want, we can enjoy life and have a companion to do it with!"
"What"
"That made no sense to you did it?"
"No, not at all"
"OK look at it this way, if we didn't love what would we have?"
"I don't know"
"Who's even to say we know what love is?"
"So why we do we tell each other i love you?"
"Because we think we know what it is, but what we do know is that we want to be with that person for the rest of our lives and if one passes and moves to the other side well always be with each other. So we say i love you because we want that person to know we care and no matter what happens we always are."
"So do you get it now?"
"Kinda, but what if we love for a little while?"
"No one ever loves just for a short time, love is a everlasting feeling that we all have for someone or something in our world. We all have those feeling for people when were young but its not a strong enough feeling to be love."
"So how do we know we love that one person when they come along?"
"You just do, you get that feeling like dang, that's the one i want to be with, we all find that person if you just look hard enough, you never know they could be sitting right in front of you and you never relies it till there gone."
"Alice, your trying to tell me something aren't you?"
"Yes Chris i am. I'm trying to say i don't no if I'm right when i tell you i love you."
"What1"
"wait, but i do know I'm right when i say i want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Chris dropped down on one knee and pulled out a ring.
"Give me your hand"
"I love you"
"You took the words right out of my mouth."
They giggled and held each other for the rest of the night. She admired the ring on her left hand and couldn't help but think, i finally found him.

That was kinda cute. But please, be more structured and work on punctuation and grammar. It was kind of hard for me to stay focused when I noticed all these errors! Still, the question is always an interesting one. Why do we love?

If you ask me, I think we love because we want to be loved back. Because we don't want to be alone and we find that comfort in the significant other who we tell "I love you" to. Or maybe, we love because that's what we have always been taught. You see it in movies, songs, books, tv shows, EVERYWHERE! Perhaps we were taught that we NEED to have love in our lives. Not that I don't agree but the society teaches us to love and so we want to love, but perhaps that distorts our view of love. We find someone and say, "Okay I'm going to love you." But do we really? Perhaps the better answer is not why we love but what is love? What is love truly? Is it a rush of hormones? A connection of the souls? Or merely, comfort food?

If you really are 14 then I must say your view on love is at best, superficial. Not insulting you or anything but I think you and I both have a lot to learn about love. :smt001

This story has a great base, it just needs a little help around the edges with grammar, spelling, and punctuation. :D

Alrighty, I'm back!

First of all, this is a great topic, and I think you can get a lot out of it. You have a good story, but you need structure. I love your dialogue, but it needs more structure. Half the time I can't tell who is talking. I think you would benefit from doing a co-author with someone a little older and more experienced.

Secondly, I want to show you that even though your writing wasn't structured, it got a response your reader, which is all you can really hope for. When I read this, it immediately got me thinking about your question. I saw something behind your characters' conversation, and I came up with my own reasons. What you need to do is hit your reader with a description that they are going to remember. Right now you just have dialogue, but if you added some exposition, this could be seriously amazing story.

I hope I helped! PM me if you rewrite, or have any questions.

That was cute in its own little way. Advice watch out for commas in your writing they are needed in writing. They are used in speech as well even though we don't realize it, they are there. Other than that it was good keep it up. :D
