My Everything

Eric Chadsworth is leaning against the picture window of his study dressed in a plain blue v necked shirt and jeans. He is mesmerized by the gentle motion of the slap of the waves against the shore. A memory has surfaced while standing there, it was a little more than five years old yet it came to his mind as if it had only occurred the day before.
It had been a dreary November day with cool winds and a greying sky. He couldn't find anything to occupy his mind away from the mood depressing day. He turned to his last resort. Grabbing Lexie and her leash he head out for a walk. Knowing not many people would be out on a day such as this made it nicer for him.
A little ways into the woods he bent down to scratch behind his golden retrievers ears and free her of the leash. The woods were the only place he could let her off the damn thing. Letting his feet drag over the loose dirt, twigs and acorns he listened to the birds chirping and the wind as it rustled through the trees. There was no place he could think of that brought him more peace than the woods.
Walking in the direction that Lexie had bounded in he noticed her barking up at a tree, tail wagging. Probably a squirrel or a chipmunk he thought to himself. About to call her to him he heard a woman's voice not far off. Lexie's head turned in the direction, her body completely still, then she took off making him none to pleased in having to chase her.
Dodging tree branches and jumping over roots that protruded from the ground he eventually caught up. She was barking at the woman as if trying to get her to play. Stopping a few feet away he couldn't help but let a whistle out at the sight in front of him. The woman was literally a damsel in distress tangled up in her dogs leash trying with effort to get her dog to cooperate.

Nice start :D

Knowing not many people would be out on a day such as this made it nicer for him.

The woods were the only place he could let her off the damn thing this is good. it shows the reader how he feels about the leash. i too hate putting my dog on a leash. Letting his feet drag over the loose dirt, twigs and acorns he listened to the birds chirping and the wind as it rustled through the trees. There was no place he could think of that brought him more peace than the woods.

i like it and can't wait to see more.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.
