Bathtub Musings
Mountains and valleys
of crackling white bubbles.
I break off an island,
and begin to sculpt,
shaping it into a heart.
Harder than it looks,
I concentrate.
I finish and stare at it.
Blank thoughts
run through my head.
It doesn't look right,
somehow....
This time I'm subtracting,
slowly scopping out
the innocent bubbles
from the center of the heart.
I don't stop until there's
a small round window,
looking through the water.
I reach under
until I can see my hand.
It comes up through the hole,
and I imagine it's a flower.
I see it's sillhouette in my head,
but then it's only an ugly hand.
And the sad thing is,
I know that,
this represents my life somehow.
The fizzling sound of
bubbles popping,
fill my ears,
as my hands crash through the
mountains and valleys
of crackling white bubbles.
