The "I'm Back" Thread

niteowl · 2005-08-08T22:55:33Z

We have an Official Goodbye/Departure thread, so it only seems fitting that we have a thread for when people return. Whether you've been gone for a week or a year, this is the place to let us know about it. I would appreciate it if a mod came around and made this a Sticky. Rather than clutter this thread up with individual Welcome Back gifts, I'll just give all returnees one super-mega-gift: :D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :!: :?:   :| :xmas_wink: :xmas_happy: :xmas_cool: :xmas_evil: :dreidel: :menorah: :frosty: :thumb: =D> #-o =P~ :^o [-X [-o #-o =P~ :^o [-X [-o #-o =P~ :^o [-X [-o< 8-[ [-( :-k ](*,) O:) =; :-({|= :-$ :-s \:D/ :-#  :lots_hearts: :elephant:

Hiyas Scarecrow! I remember seeing you around a couple of times ago. And, yeah. I'm off to review, but welcome back!

There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Some might find that insulting, some might find it hilarious.

I find that funny

Hello, you guys might not remember me but I joined a month ago and I was active for two weeks, and then I stopped. I didn't quit, and I didn't plan to be gone for so long but I've been really busy. We're redecorating my house, my creative writing class is doing a literary magazine, my English essay is stressing me to the max...etc. I can write a thousand other excuses, but I don't think there's a point. I hope to be able to be active again during this month, but this month I have AP prep, yay! I can hear thousands of kids screaming in excitement already.

I do love this site, and I didn't "quit", sorry if it seemed that way!

You know what's funny, Dahlia? I was scrolling through my list of friends and noticed you hadn't been on in a while last night. I mentioned it in chat.

Anyway, glad to have you back! XD

We're glad you came back!

I was here in 2004, under username Silent Aviator. Then I reincarnated myself as Teufelshund , then in 2006 or so I left for good. My good and probably yours.

And now that I've rediscovered YWS I'd like to go active again. The only people I knew back then are either long gone or are now admins, and I doubt anyone remembers me well.

So hey, current generation of Young Writers, I'm glad to be back!

You know, this is funny, 'cause I literally was just checking the facebook, and boom! You're here again, too! Welcome back! I know we didn't talk all that much before, but feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions on how YWS has changed, or just want to chat, whatever!

Good morning! (At least, it's morning over here where I live.)

I'm back after a year or so of hiatus. Our teachers were a bit overboard with the paperwork so I had to overtime there. Compositions, journalism reports and studying for random pop quizzes took up my time. But I've adjusted now.

It feels good to be back.

I have to say welcomes where welcomes are due, and I'm back from my weeklong trip in Padang! I would've been active more if my phone wasn't possessed by a demon that hates me. It switches off with no warning and I have to keep the battery in a fridge to get it to start working.
