Can someone come to my aid? I found a Russian-language song which I really like- "Ostanus" or "I will stay"- and am looking for an mp3 of it. So far the files I've downloaded would not play in Windows Media Player. If you know where to find a working copy, please let me know.

Doesn't Youtube have a copyright policy? I wouldn't want to do anything illegal just to acquire a song.

This services, as far as I know, are not illegal.. For some videos, it will tell you that it can't be converted because of the copyright, but mostly it won't ^^

When I last read about it, ripping streaming audio was in a murky place as far as legality. Maybe someone who is more up-to-date/legally inclined can offer more information about its current status.

In your case, it sounds like that's an unnecessary question though, as it's generally very easy to convert between audio files. Your original post makes it sound like you have the audio file, it's just not a format that will play in Windows Media Player.

"Select Format" MP3
"Select Quality" I suggest extreme or high
And then hit convert and download the file at the next page.

No dice. It's already in mp3 format, and the site doesn't give me any options as far as conversion goes.
