I yawned lazily, nearly asleep as the bleach blonde monster stood at the front of the class, droning on about something or other while everyone ignored - naturally of course.
It was 8:45am on a Thursday morning and I was sat in Mrs Dawber's class, not doing science. There was no teacher to supply us with the physical torture of P.E so we were all let off the hook and left with her, to mess around... I mean, work.
"My God, Lizzy. This is great, no P.E and no Mrs Gravil."
I smiled at the girl beside me, Sarah Crosby, the girl with the roots. Half of her hair was black, the other, her natural colour brown and she hated it. I loved it and can't imagine her without the multicoloured do.
She was quiet and shy around new people, but I'd like to think she felt confident around me. Who wouldn't? My ginger mop and friendly chubby-ness made me a natural class clown, and that was my dream.
A small slip of paper protruded from underneath my arm and I blinked, seeing her familiar neat scrawl decorating the lines.
Lizzy, I have an erection.
I blinked and burst out laughing, turning and raising a bushy brow at that quiet, but secretly, perverted girl.
"Sarah, I should hope not. Or our friendship has become a lot more complicated."
She grinned at me and did her little laugh, a hand up in front of her mouth and a small giggle, her blue/grey eyes shining.
I wrote back, in my hasty and untidy scribble, sliding the paper back to her and grinning at another giggle.
Watch out for those splinters
Was my reply.
We were always like this, but I remember the times when - in Year 7 - we despised each other. Not knowing the other as we didn't attend the same junior school, we were begrudged to have to sit next to one another in French. I used to copy, and have only just found out that she used to copy me. How that worked out, I don't know.
Then one day - the day I got pooed on by a bird I think, if not, it was in that lesson - we had it out with each other. She said I was annoying and I naturally came back with something witty. I was a loner back then, and she was the only person I sat beside, in two different lessons.
From then on, we didn't talk much, until Year nine when a bond formed, all just by watching The Omen.
We've been best of friends ever since, and now her and my other best friend go out with each other, lover boy I call him.
So there you go, the foundations of the pervert and the ginger.

AHAHAHAAA
