hello all

well, obviously, i am a noobie.
i've writen mostly fanfiction *blushes* because of the easy accesibility of it and well its an easy way to get good criticism and ego boosts
anyway, i love writing! though i know i can very often be let down by my terrible grammer and spelling, its an endless struggle which i am slowly overcoming.
i love the idea of this site and i cant wait to start posting!

What 'verse(s) do you write fanfic for?

(As for "overcoming your terrible grammar," start by capitalizing things that need to be capitalized, and using some sort of spell checker for your stories (and your posts). Firefox has a spell check function built right in.)

heheh, Meep gave oodles of good tips for grammar. Something I've been told to read, and haven't gotten around to, is Strunk and Whites book on Grammar. I forget what it is called at the moment. >.<

Hello there and welcome to YWS. A spell check is always a useful tool if you're a member here or a writer in general but don't worry there are some crazy people like myself who are willing to go through your story and underline every typo and spelling mistake.

My name's Heather and I thought I'd tell you a little about the new 'Buddy System' we have here. If you have a few questions about the site or are feeling a little overwhelmed by the many forums and posts, then you might want a mentor to show you around. A mentor is basically a good friend around the site who'll help you out for a month and give you lots of 'good criticism' which is clearly something you're interested in. In fact, they're sort of obliged to review all the work you post during the mentoring period.
